  1. Very, very good. Really liked the width including the CBs meaning we didn't become slow at the back. Wing backs could pretty much play as wingers due to our dominance but even so they were high up from the start which was good to see. I loved the passing into space that found a teammate having lost his man. Some really skillful, intuitive football that took the ball up the pitch in seconds. Pace was great on the ball. The only thing I didn't like was the continuation of the NJ chant leaving the ground when coming into contact with home fans who had just been hammered. The '....shit football team' line seemed a little much. But I'm old and I guess the young ones were carried away with the win.
  2. That was an interesting game to be in with the home fans. Crikey those 8 minutes and 4 goals. Didn't know what to do but somehow kept calm. Fair play to the home lot around me, was next to the Saints fans so a pretty quiet part of the ground but they took it well enough.
  3. Yes, nostalgia alert! I'm sure I kept mine. Bought it at a signing at, I think, Oxford St HMV where there were a fair few Saints and others fans even though in London. Well excited to meet him that day.
  4. He's struggling to settle, it seems. Certainly in terms of playing regularly. It was a real shame that his first longish run of games came in that awful season, which because it was a PL season immediately increased his value and got clubs interested. At a time when we were open to cashing in. Finding his feet this year with us would have been much better for everyone.
  5. I've definitely thought neurodiversity when I've seen TD in the past. No idea if that's the case. And yes, to an extent it's nobody's business. But I think it's ok to think about this, especially if the thoughts are about how it might affect someone, and what support might help. I haven't seen anyone just saying it for saying's sake.
  6. I think it's John Williams the film composer, he's bound to score.
  7. I think fans will probably be able to get over G O'N if he does well. Or just have to. I don't know if there's so many who couldn't get past it to make it harder for him to succeed from day one. I hope they can should he be appointed. The fact that someone who is connected to them is coming to us isn't unprecedented. We need someone experienced who makes decent football decisions. The field isn't wonderful given who we'd be interested in and who would come. Similar to the signings we make we're at a different level now. Someone with PL experience is a pretty good option.
  8. I remembered this! Not many players do this.
  9. I think RM's room reading is, wow this room is now so much better with me in it. He'll have to be ruled out by us because I'm pretty sure he'd accept it, and feel we're all the better for having him back.
  10. I think O'Neil read the room about a Wolves return. I didn't hear anything positive from fans, quite the opposite. I know if you work in football you need thick skin but maybe there's a limit.
  11. I think the positives are we had to stop the rot and somehow did. Great goals. Scienza has something that's for sure. Even with the deflection I liked Robinson's move to the right to get the shot away and he's always looking to drive, even if he therefore messes up it is giving defenders something to think about. I'm not sure what else was good. I really hope we don't dwell on this 'success'. So much to work on. You can't hoof the football that often to nobody and expect to win many games. We've got to work out a way to have control of games. I'd suggest another midfielder if that's not too shocking. Defence last night. Lots of last ditch stuff which serves a purpose. But see above about the need to avoid that happening. And even when under pressure there are better ways at coping than just waiting in numbers for the cross. So many missed chances to stop the cross in the first place. We reverted to that style way too easily end early. I didn't like Stephens moaning (like Manning does) about a decision while the ball is in play. That's selfish. We won and have to take that into the next match. I liked the co-comm. Actually had thought about us and where we are now rather than being surprised at how rubbish we are at the moment.
  12. If he's injured we're in big trouble. Really, really hope not. Wonderful goal, such a skillful shot. And in general a great turn of pace and lovely close control.
  13. We won 58-9 in clearances.
  14. What a terrible win!
  15. It's defend and hoof clear, or somehow be on the ball and charge up the pitch until give the ball away. Zero composure or build up.
  16. Can't pass won't pass. Especially to Fellows. A low ebb.
  17. Odd as it may be to think about promotion whilst sat 21st and rubbish, I'm not writing this season off. But my writing the season on is more about wanting to see progress, wins, good feeling. All very achievable. If it takes us to 7th then I'll probably be gutted we didn't make the play offs but at least we'll have shown we can be a football team again. Actual promotion for me is not a fantasy although unlikely, and if we did achieve it some lessons will have been learned and we'll be in a good place football-wise to not be as awful in the PL again. For now I just want a win or two and a good manager.
  18. Not announced yet. SR probably monitor this forum and if there is anything the vast majority like they get straight onto cancelling it.
  19. Loved that game. And wasn't it just one week later we beat Liverpool by the same score in what will probably always be my favourite Saints home game attended. I think Jason Dodd may have had his debut in the QPR game. Oh to have those forward options!
  20. I haven't seen any of him since he left, however I was pleased to see he's 34 (I assumed at least 2 years older) and he's not been retired since he left, he's been playing at a level better than we are. I'll not have sky high expectations but hope he'd improve us on and off the pitch. Please let it be true. One OR stat I loved (assuming true) is that he got 60+ yellows and no reds for us. In complete control after an early reducer on the oppo.
  21. I'm happy with this. A rare all things Saints feeling.
  22. From those employees currently working within the club he seems a sensible choice for an interim seeing as he's actually managing (or at least in charge of) a Saints team at the present time, unlike the first team coaches.
  23. Is the interview on the club site an indication it's not imminent? Maybe they have to put it up because it's what is normally done.
  24. Yep that's got to be it. I don't/won't hate him, or anyone trying to do their job. But he couldn't make us better and clearly underachieved, even with an increasing sense that we're not as good as we thought we would be. Someone else can get something out of our squad, I believe that to be possible.
  25. Leicester striker doing a Saints miss just before their second.
