  1. Was he in goal for Chelsea in our semi-final against them a few years ago?
  2. This is reminiscent of watching us fail to do anything against even fewer players. And then they score!
  3. My first game since Palace December 2019 and the 3 generations in our group really enjoyed it. Also very poignant as the first game in attendance since my Dad passed and he is the reason we now have all those generations of Saints fans. Like some on here I too felt it was a very entertaining match and it is interesting comparing comments on here to how I felt watching it at those same moments. The last 15 minutes of the first half (despite the missed chances) felt like the end of a match as we swept forward, that was when there's no substitute for being there and getting caught up in the atmosphere even when we couldn't hit the backsides of several cows with our banjos. It's true we really had to earn our goals whereas Burnley didn't. But I have seen us huff and puff a lot more without an end product than was the case on Saturday. We have goals in us but haven't found the right combination yet - we were more dynamic than I thought we'd be. I know Redmond was up there, but for Broja to take on their centre backs was great to see from one so young. Livramento looks more than the part. We did ok but I agree (and said at the game) that a change after 2-1 was much too slow in coming especially with great options off the bench. I reckon Tella would have caused them some problems. I loved Diallo's immediate pass from their error for Broja's goal too. Great to be back!
  4. Thanks a lot. I'll have it ready.
  5. First game in almost 2 years, naturally I waited to choose a guaranteed goal-fest. Do I need to have a Covid-pass to get in? Cheers.
  6. I enjoyed the football but for other reasons am especially proud of the team. This group of players and the manager are so good in terms of their individual outlook and efforts (Rashford the most striking example, also when they've sadly had to stand up for themselves against the right wing press, and Southgate speaks very well). And they seem to have a group understanding of what's important in life beyond football, such as a striking anti-racist, anti-discriminatory belief and taking actions about these issues. It's not their responsibility to do so but it would be great if they collectively called out the hypocrisy of the government (Mings already has, which is brilliant) and in doing so possibly advanced the debate that is desperately needed about racism in this country. And a Tory MP telling Rashford to stick to football after he helped feed 1000s unlike them. And the home secretary openly encouraging racists because it suits her politically. This shows why it's needed. I've always been much more passionate about Saints and club football than England (and I don't think that will change), but we can be proud of this lot.
  7. Thanks. I thought it might have been taken off for some reason after it aired. I'll keep checking.
  8. I saw the first programme and it was full of such incredible strength from those that suffered. I hope they are now receiving all the support they need. Tragically their pain can never completely go away. I've worked with survivors and seen just how broken it can leave someone. I hope some help is of use to them. I didn't see the second episode when it was on and it isn't available on i player (the other two episodes are) and I wondered why. Anyone any idea?
  9. Born and grew up close enough to The Valley to hear when a goal was scored and along with regular trips to The Dell (for my Dad to make sure I was always going to be a Saints supporter) I went to my first games there and lots since. Got a lot of time for the club, and of course for Nigel. I hope it works out really well for them both. Hopefully decent owners there at last too.
  10. In terms of our attitude towards this mess, bizarrely if we had fewer points it might focus us. But we are playing with complacency in addition to all the other rubbish things we're playing with. So little fight to go along with so little ability, at the moment. What a spiral we're in, certainly it began with injuries and rubbish VAR but it's morphed into simple old fashioned terrible form.
  11. I wonder if they mistook the Man Utd player's foot (Fred I think) for part of Che. The yellow line seems to indicate that's a possibility, bizarre as that might be. Anyway you look at it there's incompetence. Frustrated with so much about the last two games but VAR and offside might be the worst.
