That's what we need, more positivity like that 🙄. Fighting spirit like today and we're still in with a shout. It's fine margins at the bottom, tightest it's been for years and that was an important point.

We'll they've put there money in unlike Gao, they've got it all wrong but surely questions need asking about our recruitment department.

Yes, I agree. I also met Matt a couple of weeks ago at 'An Evening With' at our local theater. He was more than happy to chat with everyone who approached him in the bar both before and after, as you say down to earth and far from your normal stereotype footballer. Should add it was a charity event for which he gave up his time to appear for nothing, all profits going to charity. Not really the actions of a c**t !!! He exp!ained his thoughts on covid and many other controversial subjects, he wanted people to ask more questions from the official line we were being fed, not to much to ask surely!! for which he lost his job at Sky, ok maybe he should have reined in some of his posts on Twitter etc but many of his thoughts seemed to have been blown up and twisted out of all proportion by the mass media and the online mob. Should add to put the record straight, he wasn't sacked from his ambassador role at St Mary's, he resigned so as to protect the club from the fall out and controversy as he didn't want SFC dragged through the mud. Big difference. Amazing how quickly a guy who virtually saved our club single handedly and kept us in the Premiership for years, who showed his loyalty is now a c**t according to some of our so called loyal supporters.

If players are really going to take on board what is written about them on Saints web then then I'm surprised most of them ain't hanging from the Itchen bridge.🙄

Went to an evening with Matt Le Tiss last night at our local theater (gave the Grimsby game a miss , not a bad decision in hindsight !!) and he was asked who had the biggest influence on his career and he said without doubt Dave Merrington. Spoke very highly of him.

Don't we say that every week !!
-
Maybe at the back of Bedenarks mind was the horrendous own goal from the other week and that's why he got out of the way ,or rather turned his back on the shot, as he didn't want a deflection going in off him and another OG marked up against his name. Just my thoughts whilst trying to make sense of everything. !!!

I thought the title of this thread was......The Nathan Jones Appreciation Thread....🤣🤣🤣🤣

Some youth leagues have a code of conduct that parents have to sign up to. If they overstep the mark I believe they are then banned as spectators. I used to run the line at my son's games and if there was no qualified official would sometimes referee, it wasn't easy. The kids were ok, it was the parents that were the problem.

So Marsch definitely out of the running then. Wanted a longer contract that was on offer. A bit worried about paying up another contract I guess, understandable.
-
Then we have Bedenark to thank I guess. Just imagine if he hadn't scored that horror OG, we'd have probably gone on to win,the Welsh wizard would have said it's a turning point and .......omg , it doesn't bear thinking about !!!!!

Enough moaned about appointing Shawn Dyce, Eddie Howe, what I'd give to have had either of them in charge the last few months.

Tella hattrick at Burnley

Well, as you posted this at 5.30am Sunday morning I'm guessing you had a sleepless night after the clusterfuck at Brentford, but yes!! an excellent summary.

Wolves 2. Liverpool 0. Latest. ☹️. Is this one of those days when other results are going against us.
-
Ah right thanks. Couldn't even find him on the player archive website. I thought perhaps he was thrown in as a red herring to see if we were all paying attention. 🤣😂🤣

Didn't identify them all but recognised all the names except.......Who the hell is Mouez Hassan ???
-
Let's hope the first question is .....'Why is the Manager not here to answer our questions and concerns'.
-
Haven't we been saying that about every game since about October or maybe September even ? And we will probably be saying that right up to the end of season.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg

Yes agree, looks promising. Is it only Saints web though where new players are written off after 45 minutes !!! Lad probably didn't even know his team mates names. Even at the Sunday morning standard I played at, when having new players alongside you made it difficult. -

You Dave Merrington in disguise ? That was his favourite sentence on Radio Solent 🙂 -

I also had a load of programmes many autographed from the 60 and 70s but sold them when I got married including the 76 cup final, like you a decision I later regretted ( selling the programmes that is not getting married !! 🙄 🤣😂🤣) Many years later they had a programmes fair at the church hall in Archers Road by the Dell, they had complete seasons going back to the 50s and a few beyond ( I think it was an annual event) and managed to buy a load of them back. Ok, they weren't my originals but better than nothing.
