Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
Paul Chuckle replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Would love it If Duje Ćaleta-Car scored the winner after serving his suspension yesterday. You can almost hear the whinging now, and would be true karma after they had the game deliberately called off last season. Its a nice dream....... -
Funnily enough my dad calls it the Funeral March as well 😂
-
I'd rather not hear Kenzie Benali and that other useless goon screeching at half time. What's wrong with getting the saints band out at half time.
-
She was. She obviously fancied herself as she had her gut on full display

I think they were all Newcastle, there was another girl with her ejected who was going for it as well. Have emailed the club but still awaiting a reply, which will just say that they ejected xx amount of Newcastle fans, it's impossible to identify them when they're not in colours and brought tickets when already in the database. It's a difficult job to police and stewards act as quickly as they can. I started this thread as 2 Man Utd fans in shirts got all the way to their seats and were even shown where to go by a steward. They were only removed when saints fans pointed them out. The club emailed me and said the 2 fans removed their coats when they sat down, which was absolute rubbish as they didn't even have coats with them!!!

They weren't even hiding they were Newcastle fans, talking loudly in a noticeable Geordie accent, taking an age to find their seats like they'd never stepped foot inside St Mary's before. The club literally does nothing to stop this. I am surprised nobody was seriously hurt today. Someone being kicked on the floor. Even two women who were Newcastle fans were throwing punches and kicks at our fans. But I am sure the club stopped 100s of Newcastle fans getting in, this was an isolated incident and they were quickly ejected.

Newcastle fans all over the stadium today. Loads in block 36 next to me. Worst fighting between fans I've seen at St Mary's after Newcastle fans celebrated scoring. I await the clubs response by saying they vet all fans who buy tickets, they must be on the data base and as a precaution will be shutting off block 36 for the foreseeable future, until our fans learn to behave.

Paul Doswell said he was faking that injury when he went of against Forest and I for one believe him

Isn't this the same poster who said Eddie Howe was going to become our manager a couple of years ago? And even went as far to say the date when it would happen? I think based on that we can guess the source as Alex Crook, and dismiss anything this poster claims as fact.

Walked into St Mary's today and a Newcastle Fan, wearing their shirt stood watching the Chelsea game in the Kingsland Concourse. Of course it is our fans fault why this keeps happening.

They need to do what they used to do and link the big games with having to buy a ticket for Palace at home etc ...

Another shambles from the stewards on the entrance to Block 37-36 in the stadium. An Arsenal fan wearing an Arsenal hat and yellow shirt under an open jacket was shown to his seat by a steward. They were only removed after fans went over to the steward to complain. Another Arsenal fan cheered at the back of block 36 and was only removed after the stewards took an eternity to decide what to do and the police got involved. Two other Arsenal fans at the front of block 36 were only removed after again taking an age in making a decision as to what to do, after more fan protests. The club really need to make it more difficult to buy tickets in the home end and get some competent stewards. It seems the majority of stewards just want an easy payday instead of actually trying to deal with issues. I imagine the club's answer to what I witnessed today will be to close Block 2 of the stadium and blame the home fans.

Steve Basham after that goal at Blackburn. Also remember thinking that Shayne Bradley was going to be amazing as he played upfront for England School boys with Michael Owen.....

Wolves have just sacked their manager.

That's an odd way of listing them, but makes sense

This isn't correct, the D should be a W before the 3x L at the end. Not that it makes much of a difference. Matthew Le God mode deactivated
-
Not popular opinion i'm sure but Francis Benali was a bang average left back (and that's being kind)

Cedric signed in 2015 Matthew Le God mode deactivated

The epic tale of Ainsley Maitland-Niles transfer

Now this definitely deserves its own thread. -
I have a reply from Southampton below which isn't correct. The 2 Man Utd fans who were directed to their seats in Block 35 did not remove their jumpers when they got to their seat. One didn't even have a jumper and was stood wearing a Man Utd shirt infront of a steward who happily pointed them to their seat, the other had an open jacket on, again clearly visible to the stewards! We can confirm that we refused a number of supporters entry, including any supporters who turned up in Manchester United shirts. Out of the 34 ejections in the home end, 32 were away supporters sat within the home areas. In some cases supporters were wearing their colours under a jumper, which we noticed supporters taking these off. This led to our Stewarding Team taking action. Once our Stewarding Team are notified they will respond when it is safe to do so, and when our response team are available. This is always incredibly challenging for us to police, especially when tickets are sold on by a third party, or when supporters have a previous purchase history. We are however looking into our ticketing policy. We thank you for your continued support and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. If you have 30 seconds, it would be great if you could let us know how we did by clicking on this feedback form: https://survey.saintsfc.co.uk/s3/Supporter-Services-Feedback-Form
