Thoughts?
-
It's depressing when I can't think of 1 manager we could realistically get and secondly who is good enough to turn this mess around.
-
Contact your Saints Voice representative with any concerns about tonight's game!!
-
It's worse than 2008/9 Worst side we've ever had
-
David Lee speaks very highly of us here from about 17 minutes. Some funny stories about the team we had at the time including Hurlock and Ruddock.
-
Going to suggest they bring back the Southampton version of My Way pre match
-
So I finally got a reply to my email, please please nobody contact the club about bringing a drum..... The main parts are they said they had no reason to prohibit Palace fans bringing a drum into the stadium and would activity encourage our fans to do the same and to contact the club. If I can come up with better half time entertainment then I need to let the club know. and for any future concerns reach out to the Saints Voice panel. I give up with this club!

You know the incentive will be for non season ticket holders to go to the first game next season. Unfortunately season ticket holders get no benefits anymore apart from a measly 5% off a replica shirt and a stadium tour which still to this day I have never done and have no interest in doing. And like you I've had a season ticket as far back as The Dell when I was still a teenager but ive never benefited on anything for having one, apart from a guaranteed ticket at a couple of cup finals and semi finals.

I pay a ridiculous amount for sky sports every month and will not be watching this. Will watch a film and check my phone at half time and hope it's not another 9
-
Well AndrewSaintsfc on twitter has suggested we appoint Jose Fonte as the new manager, and I for one trust his judgement on such things.
-
Surely that's a massive benefit, not having to watch that team
-
I fully expect the club to announce a reduction for away fans tickets where as home tickets will remain the same or go up in price. I also expect lots of offers throughout the season such as 'bring a mate for a quid', get combined tickets for Plymouth and Huddersfield at home for £10. Basically deals where season ticket holders get no benefits.
-
You would think it wouldn't be that hard, but when I asked why people clearly with Newcastle accents were let into the home end at St Mary's I was told the club can't discriminate against someone because of their accent. In other words, someone living in Newcastle could easily support Southampton, and when I say someone I mean thousands, like what we saw at the cup game.
-
I've emailed them and had phone calls on numerous occasions this season. The long and short of it is "we're trying but it's really difficult to stop away fans in the home ends" The club don't even send me the match day survey anymore, think I've been black listed for giving honest feedback. Well I've emailed the club again about the drum, shocking half time entertainment and away fans in the home end. Will keep you updated if I get a response.
-
Someone get the coffin out and someone to lead the march
-
Yep, agreed. I don't even get sent the survey anymore. So much for being anonymous
-
Not only was the performance one of the most pathetic and uninspired I've ever seen, but why are we allowing away fans to have a drum in the stadium to create an atmosphere for them? It's like we can't do any more for away fans. Again there were away fans all over St Mary's. Bring on the Championship and teams who bring about 500 fans down.

Nights like the Play Off Semi Final at Pride Park, still remember Crab Lungs and me being bundled under a surge of fans after Rasiaks last minute goal. Even though we lost that team which was pieced together after Billy Davies team had kicked the sh*t out of us in the first leg, had more fight, passion and guts than the team we have now.
-
They only have weeks to come up with something to entertain the crowd at half time and all they can come up with is punting a football at either the cross bar or a coloured zone on the pitch. I think we're all agreed that we'd rather just stare at the people forking the pitch and the sprinklers than the 2 who the club employ to apparently entertain us. They can't even time the Saints Band before the match right, it's cut off midway through every time. Here's an idea, start 5 mins earlier. Not difficult is it.
-
Even the half time entertainment is garbage. The sooner Benali and that bloke are binned off the better. Probably paying them thousands for screaming in a microphone for 15 mins. Good to see Super Ken Monkou. Shame he wasn't playing today. Miles better than any current CB we have. As for the game. Playing 70 minutes in a must win game with no striker Is ridiculous. Selles isn't the solution, he's part of the problem

List of 'things' Sports Republic have done well
Paul Chuckle replied to AlexLaw76's topic in The Saints
Turning the whole of St Mary's into the first fan neutral stadium in the English football league. Great stuff. -
Eniola Aluko said she knows Rasmus and he's a great football mind, and I for one believe her
-
He's just another Steve Wigley, Stuart Gray, Gorman/Dodd and he always was going to be. Anyone who thought otherwise clearly knows nothing about football. All this "the players like him" doesn't make him a good manager
-
I actually enjoy going to the pub before and after. It's the football that gets in the way of having a good time. I know a few season ticket holders who are going to tell their Mrs that they have got season tickets, but instead put the money into a pot for a decent summer holiday next year with their mates. They then still have an excuse to go to the pub every other week, and don't need to have the disappointment of going to the football

Griff was a top bloke, many a funny night out with him and a few others on the board (Crab Lungs, Colin_T, Squibby, Gemmel, Saint Tim) in the mid 2000s. Sadly died in 2007, which I can't believe was 16 years ago now.
