I missed the first half hour. And therefore missed anything of quality that saints did in that game it seems. I don’t think I saw more than 4 successful passes to our own side in a row. We were competitive but that’s about it. The deficiencies in the team are obvious. No out ball available at all. Everytime we went forward it came straight back - which is frustrating when it seems like Stills tactics are to go long and direct often. Which just seemed to break straight down. Archer was terrible. Armstrong tried hard but wasn’t good. think quashie will come good despite the hammering he got today. For example harqood bellis looked ropey today and he’s an experienced championship defender. but bit concerning that we haven’t had a convincing performance yet under Still.

I’m eating humble pie. props to jack and baz. Good result in the end. But the performance highlighted all of the deficiencies in the team. Don’t move the ball quick enough or have any quality in the 10s. COYR

Stephens getting an extension really did a number on the morale of the fanbase judging from the forum. Stupid move from that perspective by the club - just eroded any burgeoning faith in the new overlords (Spors etc)

Sure, that’s entirely possible. And to be honest I have the same fears as everyone about the team getting weaker and being replaced by dross. But posting the same negativity day after day doesn’t stop it from happening and just derails the thread from purely transfer news/related. (Not a pop at any particular poster) trying to tell myself as much as anyone else. I think it’s trauma from the last few years coming out… 🤣🤷🏼‍♂️

No offense, but I think it’s a bit too early to be fretting about this. We’re all worried about it but I think let’s wait til the end of the window before we get too pessimistic otherwise it will be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth for nothing. (Hopefully)

See, I actually think you’re right - and he must have some perceived value around the club as they are paying him a lot of money to be there and for longer. I don’t have a problem with that bit really - I have a problem with an arguably poor quality player (proven with a pretty mediocre career and stats) with stupid disciplinary problems being captain and therefore pretty much guaranteeing himself to be on the pitch and an important part of the 11. We should be aiming for better. I want to improve the team not reward a historically bad season. I don’t mind if they think he’s good for morale and the dressing room. Let him put the cones out. As he’s captain he’ll play.

I think therein lies the real problem…I was hoping hoping hoping that finally we would have people at the club that might look at the past few years of failure and maybe look at the players who’ve “contributed” and come to a different conclusion 🤗

Oh yeah, you’re absolutely right. Stats can be made to say anything. Except in this case…, I couldn’t make the stats say that jack stephens was a good player 😆
