  1. @sadoldgitsaid “Nothing better to do?” I do a fair bit of posting while I’m cooking. A bit of multi tasking. Instead of testing the water for a personal shot, you could have asked yourself why someone who isn’t normally active in this part of the forum taking the time to point things out? Could it be you? “I am not going to bore the readers of this thread any more by responding…” or to paraphrase this fallacy, you don’t have a leg to stand on, so you’re appealing to what you consider an audience you’ve not asked to want. If people are bored, there’s the block function I believe you can tell them about. “…you seem determine to misrepresent what I say…” and “Only a very stupid or deliberately obtuse person would misinterpret what I had said.” I couldn’t have gone out of my way more to use your quotes. Your posts misinterpret themselves. When it looks like you have got it, you back peddle in defence. The personal slight there was a classy touch, considering your stance on other posters’ attitudes. “I said I didn’t think that her words in that letter were anti-Semitic. It was my opinion and we are all entitled to that.” You also initially suggested that there really was a hierarchy of racism and that Abbott was somehow being brave, and deliberately so, in redefining racism for the rest of us. I think you’ve at least read the article that her letter was in response to, which does include specific groups that Abbott feels should be lower down her structure of discrimination. You’ve said it’s not anti-semetic because she’d have to mention it specifically, or the Holocaust, for it to really count. All in your quotes in my previous post. Even despite any number of people, impacted by this, saying that the comments were anti-semitic. Even when your own research tells you that Jewish people “can be subjected to racism.” Even if there’s doubt, you just ignore all that and consider the comments not to be. I’ve not misinterpreted a thing here. Trying to justify your opinion because Keir Starmer, who you were praising for quick, decisive action isn’t clear on what he’s being quick and decisive about is weak. Even if he was sure, you’d still be disagreeing with him apparently. “I certainly did not spend all day try to prove that Jewish people are not a race.” This is true. You “spent much of today” doing that, and followed it up with a number of phone-ins, that you may well have been multi tasking while listening to. “Sadly you made the big mistake of quoting Turkish. Anyone reading this forum for any length of time will know that he is a WUM and is not worth bothering with. The best definition of being woke that I have found so far is “not being an a-hole”.” I used @Turkish quote quite deliberately, as I knew it would be a trigger. It looks like I should have picked out what I thought was the clear message, given what’s being talked about. Here it is:- “…desperate to jump on any perceived racism every opportunity they get both in their own way defending Abbots comments, denying any anti-semitism whist even the leader of their party has condemned them. Soggy has spent all day trying to prove Jews aren’t a race …" Now clearly, that should have been “much of a day” in there, just for accuracy. But you’ve ignored all the points in the quote that relate to the topic at hand. Trying to following up your time spent defending anti-semitism through semantics with your time spent finding the definition of wokeness wasn’t the issue. It was the bits about racism and anti-semitism. Hopefully, that’s clearer and you do take it on board, rather than just dismiss it along with a group of posters who you’ve said “I don’t bother to read their posts” and at least one of which is “not worth bothering with.” Like the opening paragraph in this post, what you could have been asking yourself is why someone who doesn’t post much in this part of the forum thinks you sound exactly like someone whose views you completely dismiss and dislike thinks? That’s partly what I was going for there. Helpful Hint (I noticed on a thread while I was typing): You’ll notice I didn’t describe a section of other posters as “they.” These are words, bearing in mind the sensitive topics, that are divisive and dismissive going all the way to dehumanising. It’s another racism issue that you’ve somehow wandered into, although it couldn’t possibly be anything to do with you. Could it?
  2. What is it we're all to do? Bang some saucepans? And if it is that, could someone be clearer about the steps, as the police wanred me last time. 🙂 Looks it up... Oh dear. I politely decline his majesty's kind offer of having "an active role in the ceremony"
  3. Sorry, I was expecting you to say a bad thing he could do, in order to do more damage? 🙂
  4. It is brave football. Considering the nightmares and therapy sessions we're all going to need to get over the memories, we're incredibly brave for watching it. 🙂
  5. That was an utter shambles of a second half. 1-0 up and Selles manages to distill all of the things he's got hopelessly wrong in previous weeks and got the players to execute that. Never stretch the play when you can invite wave after wave of pressure at the back. Never get a proactive shape when you can react by getting dragged out of postion. Never give yourself a chance to retain the ball when you can hoof it in a panic. Never complete passes or show drive or passion when you can sit back and capitulate. Never give yourself a chance of holding the ball up, when you can replace players with lightweights, with none of those skills. Never give yourself a defensive chance by playing an unbalanced back line, and then weakening it by bring on a loan signing who have been incredibly poor. Just horrendous. The only thing the players have earned is the % cut in ther wages following relegation. They've more than earned that. The only thing our coaching staff, and above, have earned are P45s. They shouldn't be around to taint whoever comes next to try and get us back up.
  6. With the win safely in the bag, Newcastle bring on pointless subs. We make pointless subs do reduce any chance of us winning at key points in the game. Oddly, we seem to regularly lose when doing this.
  7. Other, less smart clubs have false number 9s. That stat shows we have an entire false attacking line. That's how cleaver we are.
  8. Really hope he's questioned by the authorities after the game, for chucking this away again. 🙂
  9. Points at his head - be smart Points to his chest - show heart perhaps he could have shown a clue, and we'd not be watchig this.
  10. Selles got every possible decision wrong for this half. The players he's introduced have matched their usual performacnes, and our manager has learned not one thing. Utterly useless.
  11. We had a couple of chances to not just hoof it clear, but retain it. But we did just hoof it, because we were dropping so deep, and that's what happens when you keep inviting the pressure.
  12. So far so good. At least strongly due to picking players capable of doing something furhter up the park, it wasn;t all one way traffic. Sure, Newcastle had opportuniites, with Lyanco being tested by Gordon, and leaving gaps, before getting some dominance. But when were weathering a bit of pressure, SellesBall of a central counterattck paid off. Today we had the players, and as a group, to make that attack pay off. They worked as a unit, rather than our counter being form a random clearance where someone has to hope for the best. Newcastle will undoubtedly get opportunities. So it's a test of Selles whether he tires to shut up shop with a lead as per normal unsuccessful SellesBall, or still adopt a more attacking outlook, so that Newcastl e will know to be wary of overcommitting.
  13. Whew! Bednarek managed to keep it out of his own net.
  14. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaas!!!!!!!!
  15. And the commentator said he ran away after his foul 30seconds later, while a team mate distracted the ref. But the ref is have a good game in the same breath.
  16. I didn;t see a flurry of notes coming on, so not sure. 🙂
  17. I've not seen the comments after the team was announced, but that stood out as being a weak link. Well, one of the weak links, but you know what I mean. 🙂
  18. Hopefully, there will be an effective overhaul in the summer, and the chap near you can come back ahead of a brighter, more entertaining season in the Championship. Should we get promoted, then he can consider quitting. At least he can quit when we're on the up. 🙂
  19. "We've got 'em just where we want 'em!" "I fancy Italian after the match. You?" "30% - Your relegation wage drop." "Do I look smart on the touchline?" "Be front footed and aggressive."
  20. What do you mean, "fan apathy?" 🙂
