  1. Some sort of loan deal, where Chelsea have so many registered players they have to get rid on deadline day and pay most of his wages. Not too many scnearios come to mind.
  2. Had Wolves passed that with Schmeichal so far out, they would have got a third. I had some sympathy for that second one. While the Wolves striker wasn't interfering, I'd have thought Schmeichal would have been adjusting his poistion for a player who was offside. 5 without a win for Leicister now.
  3. I was a fan of The Cult's follow up album to She Sells Sanctuary: Hasenhüttl hawks hasenpfeffer...
  4. KWP was running them ragged down that flank. Then to mess with them even more, KWP moved in a little, to allow JWP space down that side. And that was in the last 5 mins or so. 🙂 Everton had no chance of coping with them. Tireless work across the team today. If Lampard is expecting high energy output form his team, today will have been a stark lesson in how far he has to go to make it work.
  5. Data analysts rate team well known for data analysis very highly shocker. 🙂
  6. That was true enough. Shocker of a half from him. You get the feeling that he's likely to have quite a few shockers too.
  7. It's quite nice to see players who are solid and then come into the game, compared to some earlier games where we struggled a bit second half, and maybe had a drop off in quality.
  8. That's what I took out of a lot of the interview. Semmens wasn't running away with black box delusions. He said that while we'd like to hold onto some fantastic players, we are more than willing to be a key part of their pathway, for them to achieve everything they can in their career. He set out a win win for any player looking to play regularly at a great standard, in one of the best leagues around. Hopefully lots of top players at academies, out of favour at their own clubs or looking to kick start their chances will be looking at us as a club they'd love to be part of.
  9. no flare or flair either
  10. So, that's a squad with 500m spent on it. Ouch. Not in the same class as us today. Loads of good performances again, with a couple of silly moments later on (Adams giving the ball away, and a near mix up at the back), but vastly more pluses. Great to see Long on the scoresheet. Always like him to do well.
  11. we are doing well from headers recently. Good header.
  12. and sure enough. yay!
  13. right. now for a class in finishing. Shane's on 🙂... love for him to get one.
  14. lovely covering run and tackle by Bednarek
  15. just one of these to go in please.
  16. Oh, really could have been 2 there.
  17. Quartered
  18. Well there goes my reply to... Which was going to be... Yes, but is there is discount? Well done MLG. You'll have been adjusting JWP's CA since his start.
  19. Taking important info into number 10. The yellow tab is for Saints when in possession and the green tab is for when we don't have the ball. All in his club colour binder. We just can't see the Panini stickers that are on the other side of the binder.
  20. Bah! Big team Pop Quiz bias! 😊
  21. When I've seen things like this recently, it's been partly due to resturcturing, but also due to the big shift financially, and in quality, from going form regional to a more national league. The league organisation want to promote the best teams as quickly as possible up the regional divisions, with lots of relegation. But then slow it down at the top of the region to help ensure that only the club best prepared goes up. Plenty of counterpoints to that though, as you've pointed out.
  22. It's a very tough balancing act, where perfect world planning of recruitment, development and release meets endless real world variables. Good to hear that the succession planning has identified a number coming through the narrow market of Replacvement Ralphs. And that they take confidence form their approach in that their first choice by miles is now doing so well.
