  1. Interesting. There are a number of actual kits with a lot of detailing, beyond most concept kits. Our own has those lines over it. The technology seems able to allow that, and maintain the profit.
  2. The squad get to try out the new third kit before general release... Note the protective headgear with Saints, bravely and boldly, at the forefront of preventing concussion injuries. Note also the small midriff fighter plane: celebrating our nation's brave and bold heritage, while also keeping grabby opponents at bay during corners.
  3. It's been a promising window so far, but those would really take the biscuit. 🙂
  4. How are you at defending from corners? If you can do that, there's a striker spot for you. 🙂
  5. Sadly my Victorian chaperone wouldn't let me join the "No To Stripes!" protest marches. Although I read in the Boy's Own Paper that the Saints fans, correctly dressed in half or quarters shirts, who chained themselves to railings would go onto inspire the suffragettes.
  6. From the super Kitclassics.... Personal favourites are... 1980-85 away, 1980-84 home, 1987-89 home, 1885-87 home, 2018-2020 3rd, 2013-14 home. When I'm not keen on one of the non stripe ones, stripes would do fine, even though they aren't among my favourites. As 87-89 has similarities to the 1894-96 kit, I'd like to see what Hummel could do with our 1891-94 shirt. I'm hoping there's a little of the 1980-85 away in this season's away kit.
  7. He scored some important goals. He scored some lovely goals. Apart from 2015/16, he didn't score a lot of goals. He did bring other things to the team though: Commitment, unselfishness, work rate and intelligence to create space and chances for others. Attributes that were still getting him the nod from Ralph, right up to the end of his time here. You'd not hang your survival hopes on his finishing alone. But always a good squad player. If he had more goals in his game, it would have been interesting to see how much higher he could have gone. So long, Shane.
  8. "The case against the EPA was brought by West Virginia on behalf of 18 other mostly Republican-led states and some of the nation's largest coal companies." A future of using your easily available guns, thanks to the NRA, to fight off the hordes, thanks to anti abortion legislation, so that you can keep breathing from your oxygen bottle in the toxic, dying atmosphere, thanks to the coal companies. 🙂
  9. But then, all the youth players would want at least the same. "We'll, if you don't think I'm as good as Dibling, I'll be off then," they'll say. Or probably get their agent to say, who they've had since they were 6, to fend off grasping clubs. Instead of chucking money away in fear of missing out on any talent going, I think it's better to instead support the women's team, giving all Saints teams the best, sustainable chance of success.
  10. Although you get an infinite supply of tuna sandwiches for the catering, to offset the cost of the second one. 🙂
  11. "Sack the Director of Legal and Risk!" will make for a different chant next season. 🙂
  12. Meet next Arsenal signing Odin Holm 🙂
  13. Agree with this. We've certainly benefited from the development players have had at other clubs. We're also developing potential talent that top clubs are keen on. It's a very big decision for youth players to make. Dibling might just be going for the cash, feeling he can move on at a good level in a few years. Maybe, he sees a genuine pathway at a Newcastle in transition. If their set up is inferior, he'll have to risk it either changing quickly, or not denting his development. Whatever the reason, we should only be offering what's within our structure. As mentioned before, we would soon have to be offering silly amounts to any number of promising talents, of whom only a fraction would be making the grade with us.
  14. Waiting for a reworded Dire Straits Romeo and Juliet... 🙂
  15. So many of them, they won't have fully worked out their tactics. We'll be fine... ...knows that this post will come back to haunt me.🙂
  16. Join us at 7pm each Thursday for our False Football Memory Support Group. First up are Mr Holmes and Mr Watson. They remember us getting hammered 9-0 so that's...um... actually that's a different support group. 🙂
  17. Taking their position as an indicator of their youth setup, would joining them give him financial benefit, but at a possible cost of as much development? Or does he see even his short term future at another age group combined with senior squad level?
  18. Just waiting for the Return of Rofe.
  19. Just been told that his new goal scorer will be Shane Long. 🙂
  20. I'm generally a bit skeptical about that sort of statement from Ralph. When tight resources gave us a small squad, he wanted a small squad. Yet when injuries hit and the depth was poor, it was a larger one. When the club's plan is to nab players about to break through from top academies, he wants to focus on youth players. I'm sure if the club's plan brought in Modric, Ronaldo, Messi and Lewandowski, he'd not find it against his footballing principles. 🙂
