Given that we’ve only got 2 fit strikers available to us and are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference I find it pretty surprising that any bottom half club would even consider letting anyone capable of getting goals in this league out of their sight to be honest. But this is Saints, we’re too good for players like Gabbi clearly.

Hardly surprising given our manager is it? Can only think in “like for like” terms. Heaven forbid we actually try something different given we haven’t won in the league since October - there’s a novel concept.

“Some of our fans are a disgrace” - we had 5,000 at Fulham singing their hearts out despite our awful run. Fans in good voice again today despite a “disgrace” of a performance in the second half. Some of the keyboard “I’m a better fan than you” warriors on here are embarrassing. It’s not a case of doing what they like, it’s a case of advocating the removal of someone who is , statistically, one of the worst managers in our history.

We were throwing ourselves into last ditch defensive challenges from the 50th minute. We didnt have shot in the second half so, yes, we did.

This, sadly, is spot on. Shame that Les has nailed his colours to the goon’s mask in the press. Fans seem a bit tetchy in the pub near the ground. There will be some vitriol directed at MP.

The problem is that we are slow to conclude transfers when we are in a position of strength and players actually wanting to join us with Les seemingly focusing on getting the best deal (so he can sell on for a bigger profit and put that on his CV). Problem now is that a) we broadcast to the footballing world that we had £75m in the bank before the window even opened and b) the only way to convince players of sufficient quality is by paying them, something we know that Saints won’t do. My real concern (and really I’m only putting it out here so people can tell me it won’t happen) is that the justification for keeping MP given by the board is that they recognise he hasn’t been backed and are willing to do so in January. The nightmare scenario would be no one (or no one but for a couple of cheap loans) in this window and us keeping Pell. If that’s the position we are in on 31 Jan then we really are in trouble.
