  1. I could be having a wild stab in the dark here, but I'm thinking that you might not be the wildest enthusiast of the thread cos its not in perfect alignment with your opinion? oh well thats cool, its good that the forum provides the opportunity for people of all sorts of viewpoints to have a say. "The biggest threat" is of course a subjective viewpoint, and I'm sure you know you're right, but keeping it to one sticky was just an idea to allow some other issues to be discussed, I'm not sure why discussing other issues, as well as Lowe out, infers that all is well. Didn't really understand the yellow card reference but I liked the solentstars idea of "their own thread to talk among their selves" though - nice one
  2. A few conclusions to be drawn from this thread so far: 1. The vote is still about 50/50 ...not exactly enough for Jan to throw himself on his sword 2. Only around 12% of people who read the thread can be @rsed to vote (unless everyone who has voted just keeps looking at the thread again - we're not all that short of things to do are we?) 3. No matter what the subject, some people have to insist that they know more than anyone else/ are a better supporter, and will abuse anyone who dares to think otherwise
  3. "a complete player overhaul will be required" mmmm, transfers (sound of hands being rubbed together)
  4. I have commented before that if you read most posts - on any subject, there comes a point when the subject gets changed to why Rupert Lowe is a demon and he should go. You can even play the game of count the posts before the subject changes, which is mildly amusing to begin with, but the novelty soon wears off, and you realise you need to get out more. The change of subject is understandable to some degree, despite an arguable lack of facts, because a lot of people are rightly passionate about their club and hate to see it where it is. He is the chairman and so its all his fault, end of - and there is some logic to that argument. For all the people trying to talk about something else however, this obsession is hijacking the other posts, and the protagonists will probably say "rightly so its the only thing that matters". What about....crazy idea but it might just work, in the interests of thread reading efficiency, having a "why we hate Lowe / Lowe must go" sticky thread, and then leave all the other threads to team selection, points predictions, barmaids chests, greatest ever Saints left handed centre back that played in the inter-war period, transfer rumours, away ground pubs, next Friday's takeover, wtf itk or hcdajfu means tbf, etc etc We could even have a sticky to see if the sticky would be a good idea - and so on
  5. Your'e in the wrong place for those sort of people
  6. We probably will... in the second half
  7. Forest probably
  8. ...according to half the fans
  9. Are you on the right thread?
  10. Apologies to those who won't want to read any good news, but... "Southampton's highly-rated Adam Lallana says he would rather play first-team football for the Saints than join a bigger club and be in the reserves" (News of the World) (OS spin, Lowe out etc)
  11. Wouldn't like to have some of you lot next to me in the trenches

  13. So just over half don't have confidence (so far). That should send the shock waves reverberating around St Mary's
  14. I expect they're having the same playful banter on the Doncaster, Forest and Charlton forums.
  15. Sounds like we were unlucky. Great second half fightback - well done Jan and well done the boys. Lets really keep this momentum going and push on now. COYR. (quickly presses "submit reply" and then logs off forum)

  21. If we could just have kept those unlucky 3 goals out we'd be 2 up now with a cushion
  22. Cos he's been brought in under very difficult circumstances, i.e no money and likely to lose any players that show any potential, to coach a bunch of young and very inexperienced players into a team that will, possibly next season, push onto the play-offs. How and why we got to that position is another story but we all have a view - mostly based on our passionate wish for Saints to be somewhere better rather than any knowledge of the background facts. The fact that many people who know the game think he's got the side playing really good football, and that until last week only Wolves have won more games away from home, are positives that might even go beyond what might be expected. One of the beauties of footy is that we all know better don't we - for example I should be playing for England (cricket as well)
  23. Kenwyne's got 2 so far today for Sunderland
