  1. Agreed. Looks like the High Court isn't going to let AA take the mick this time. I think Lampitt has given up the ghost anyway but it must have been a severe blow to AA to see the case swapped to Justice Norris this afternoon. I bet that's causing great concern as they work into the night tonight!
  2. Presumably Pompey have a no win, no fee lawyer tomorrow!
  3. Lovely jubbly.
  4. The above is my take on it also. They appear to be in trouble at the court on Friday. If the judge were to take a middle ground position and grant Pompey administration but refuse the choice of UHI Hacker Young (i.e. AA) as chosen administrator in favour of an HMRC or court appointed choice of administrator (which is allowable) I think Chinny would consider winding up Pompey as a CSI asset in any case, perhaps after an independent administrator had offloaded some Pompey outgoings under a judicial order for PR purposes.
  5. With Rangers going into admin, I guess today's a good time to bury Pompey's news!
  6. The Telegraph take on it: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9076086/Fears-over-future-of-Sun-newspaper-after-more-arrests.html
  7. Hopefully we can win this well now after a poor couple of months...
  8. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16996567 Seriously. Dalglish has defended Suarez beyond the pale already and now this. Incredible that Dalglish hadn't told Suarez to be sensible. How to lose friends and influence people etc.
  9. There was a conference call between HMRC and PFC yesterday that Penny claims to have instigated. She also claims that there is now a better understanding between the parties etc. All of which is nonsense on the basis that that HMRC, the Administrator and PFC will be speaking on a very regular basis. Penny's just vote gathering. An individual MP really isn't that powerful in the system, particularly when talking rubbish.
  10. I am a very good friend of the top egg at the Mash... he's an ex-journo who got hacked off with the mainstream papers he worked for so now turns headlines on their heads. And is much happier as a result! He also rescues captive hens!
  11. News of arrests of senior staff at the Sun starts speculation that Murdoch may be considering shutting that newspaper down also... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16996275 Interesting times...
  12. It probably will within a few weeks. The likely scenario is that Chinny will attempt to put the club into administration (which will be possibly opposed by HMRC who want immediate liquidation to stop money going to CSI) so that the club makes it until 1 April at which point Chinny can grab the due parachutes as secured creditor of CSI. He will then hand over effective ownership of CSI to Andronikou and make his exit. The already bust CSI then has no cash or security to rescue PFC and can't sell it because of the current toxic debt. At that point it will become clear that liquidation is the only option for PFC as the current debt will be unpayable and if the initial CVA payment is not made at that same point in time the original entire outstanding debt comes back into play. Game over.
  13. Either deluded or securing local votes.
  14. I'd certainly describe Boris as a buffoonish baboon. Ken is more a gentlemanly viper.
  15. One of the posters on the News is claiming that their academy (???) players have been sent home until further notice and will become free agents next week unless the situation is resolved.
  16. Not sure that works. I work in Salford and am about 600 metres from Old Trafford as I type this!!
  17. The latest article in the News about Government Plea to Buy Fratton Park tacitly admits that the ground could be used for other purposes: The letter sent to Sport England said: ‘The council has effectively secured the ground from alternative investment, but the risk remains that access to the ground could be restricted while ownership remains unresolved. As Ken Tone says, it would be difficult to oppose a genuine alternative use for the land if PFC go under as the Local Plan is only guidance.
  18. A validation order is only issued if the Court is satisfied that there is enough money in the account to pay outstanding debts. I suspect that even if AA or Lampitt has tried to obtain an order it has been turned down and will only be granted if Chinny pays HMRC in any case. I think the "waiting for a validation order" is another red herring in an attempt to cover up the real situation.
  19. I think Saggy Chops will be found guilty.

    Bye Bye Huhne

He's done a very difficult job quite successfully treading a path through energy generation minefield. Getting towards an appropriate mix of gas, coal, nuke and renewables with about a dozen major power station developments consented last year which, it has to be said, is a far better record than Labour who dithered and increased the real risk of energy demand shortfalls.

    Bye Bye Huhne

Actually a very good politician. Has proved to be an excellent Cabinet Minister and Secretary of State for Environment.
  22. A very good article charting the crooked goings on at PFC since Mandaric left town. http://thetwounfortunates.com/turmoil-week-portsmouth/
  23. I'm fairly convinced you could get a pretty decent CEO for a largely nationalised bank on a reasonable wage.
  24. Ughhh... just discovered something that might have been cheese once!
