  1. I think his company and immediate boss have pulled him out of the fray. It doesn't do their business good to be seen as the guys who pull the plug.
  2. This isn't honesty, this is an eventual acceptance of the situation by Lampitt that Pompey are doomed for liquidation. It does Pompey FC no good to blame CSI, the Administrator (Andronikou) or Chinny (Portpin) in any other circumstance. But that it what they have done. The statement is merely a softening up of the fans so they can brace themselves for what now seems an inevitable liquidation unless they magic up a new owner who will take on all the complications and debt. There still seems to be lack of clarity about the role of Portpin as secured creditor over CSI or PFC. It can't be both. Either way, it is clear that that a points deduction must now happen after that statement. But will the FL grasp the nettle immediately or try and let HMRC do their dirty work off the football field?
  3. CSI/Portsmouth's biggest mistake is clearly the reappointment of Andronikou when it's now obvious that HMRC are not going to screw up this time and are gunning for Andronikou.
  4. It's interesting how AA refers to Portsmouth as "we" still, yet is meant to be representing CSI. Although, I think his comments basically mean that he has given up the ghost and it's time for the blue few to steel themselves for the inevitable. It's the first time he has spoken like this.
  5. Of course it's ok to wear previous shirts. I have about 6 different home versions dating from 1990 that I wear sometimes. I'm too big to get into all the ones before then!
  6. It's also privilege too.
  7. More from the News posters: RHS Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 03:09 PM Middle of the week is tomorrow Wednesday, and therefore they have passed the FL fppt etc so i expect the beans spilled tomorrow, ie Cala or Branson, so i would pick urm not sure! DIS
  8. There are no regular transatlantic flights into Birmingham Int currently. That would change.
  9. Even the blue few have rumbled JoCa now by their comments. They're not happy with the News! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/potential_new_owner_has_premier_league_ambitions_1_3414040?commentspage=5#commentsSection
  10. The clinics contend that the material used was passed safe by UK medical authorities so it is not their own fault. But then again car manufacturers seem to stump up the price of a recall programme when third party components are proven faulty.
  11. I'm in favour for reasons nobody has mentioned. The emphasis of HS2 is based on speed which is wrong, it is the extra capacity that counts for passengers and freight. The new line will be an additional line that supplements the existing WCML. That means a huge opening of load capacity for three groups - high speed passengers on HS2; local commuters on the classic WCML; and freight on the WCML. The new line will be passenger only which will enable longer and more frequent freight trains on the classic line. Freight is currently limited to paths that do not impede the Pendolinos which travel 60mph quicker than the freight tains can. That will help take loads of freight off the roads meaning less road congestion and lower CO2 emissions. It will also stimulate investment into rail freight hubs bringing thousands of additional jobs. More efficient freight means lower end costs to supermarket customers too. The new line will assist with the current air traffic congestion problems at Heathrow as London-bound passengers will have an additional option to fly to Birmingham International (and eventually Manchester) and then take HS2 for less than a hour into London. That's as good as Heathrow, Gatwick or Stanstead into London. These huge benefits simply are not recognised and calculated in by most people who see no further than a few minutes off a train journey time. I recommend people listen to Professor David Begg, probably the UK's foremost transport academic. He makes a compelling business case that puts the facile arguments of the antis in their place most thoroughly.
  12. This is my view also. I think AA is under a deadline and is bulling stuff up once more.
  13. You need at least 5 big hearted outfield players in a starting line up and the remainder have to have good team qualities. I don't think Punch fits that bill on either count.

    Radhi Jaidi

Lol. I think Jaidi has done his time and also done the job we required from him. He was never that fast but was a good team player for us last year in L1. I'd imagine NA will be looking for a CB as a priority this month to help Fonte and Jos out.
  15. I also love the way that the Portsmouth News does hyperbole continually... "Pompey Stars in for the Battle" "Pompey Hero set to Miss Out" etc, etc. They have some truly dreadful copywriters in Jordan Cross and his colleagues. All hype and no fact. You'd have thought they would have learned by now.
  16. Yeah, I really should do that. I have a set of WWII Zeiss binoculars in a leather case too. Also from Auntie Edna! God knows what she was up to!
  17. Anyway, if not mentioned before, Cameron has no intention of letting Parliament have a free vote on this issue. A) He doesn't want it causing a commotion that would not be good for the potential overall and wider Tory vote at an election B) He knows that it would be lost in Parliament under the current make up of MPs So, bark at the moon Dune.
  18. Appy Daze... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/appleton_insists_pompey_under_no_pressure_to_sell_1_3369009
  19. I have an old Breitling watch that was swapped by my great aunt for some food and cigarettes in Berlin in the summer of 1945 apparently. Although it doesn't work. I might get it fixed one day. It looks nice.
  20. I have to say the xmas sprouts have once again moved my guts quite remarkably. The accompanying and expected stench has also been satisfactory. Various family members complaining about my rotten and turgid gases etc.

    Board games

I'd forgotten all about Buccaneer. It was a great game. I also liked Kingmaker which is also long deceased in production. Although that was a bit more complicated than Triv etc so useless for old people or girls.
  22. As an addendum to my post above I reckon Andronikou needs to secure a buyer who will guarantee to pay about £32m for a takeover in the next few weeks to buy Portsmouth Football Club with an extra £16m CVA still to pay over the next 4 years: * £17m to Portpin from CSI * £10m additional loan outstanding from Portsmouth to CSI (or its creditors like Lithuanian prosecuotors or Snoras) * Rough guess of £5m on outstanding player contracts with no end sale value It's a lot of work for Andronikou over Xmas. As he is one step up the ladder now and represents CSI rather than Portsmouth, I'd assume he would be considering liquidating CSI liabilities if they can't be sold as going concerns.
  23. The Portsmouth News is reporting that Pompey owe about £16.5m on the CVA, of which £1.2m has to be paid by April. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/pompey_need_to_pay_1_2m_to_creditors_in_april_1_3334471?commentssort=1&commentspage=0 If it's also correct that CSI via Antonov have loaned Pompey £10m since the CSI takeover to fund new players etc, then Andronikou is technically correct saying that Pompey have debts of "£25m" roughly. But that doesn't take into account the £17m than CSI was meant to pay Chainrai for Pompey in the first place, seemingly of which little has been paid - hence Chainrai's company Portpin putting the secured holding order over CSI. It's difficult to unravel - perhaps others like Rallyboy can help here - but my initial take is that Andronikou could potentially continue to fund Pompey wages etc out of CSI bank accounts unless either Portpin says no or the Lithuanian Snoras preosecutors say no. Both of which are likely. At that point I think it would be difficult for Andronikou or Portsmouth to say the football club is a distinct trading entity from CSI and would therefore, if unable to pay wages and meet current costs, be trading insolvently. So unless Andronikou finds another buyer (or at least creditor) who satisfies the Football League in a short space of time, Portsmouth will have to get rid of players, let alone sell, in January to stay technically solvent to remain a legal trading entity. A big question would be how can Portsmouth release or sell big earning players under contract in January also. They have quite a few older players under ongoing contracts on wages that are far too high for other clubs to even take them off the wage roster, let alone put an offer in for them. Interesting weeks ahead...
  24. Trousers makes the point entirely. It is also the case that the CVA was deferred by the new owners who then put money into new players and wages. It doesn't look good.
