  1. Boethius
  2. Bloke on FB reporting he's been sacked, announcement by 11am. No idea if true.
  3. If SR bite the bullet, who's available out there right now who you think could/would be prepared to step in....?
  4. Just no
  5. I'd go with this. He'd unite the fan base without question and if we're going down at least let's do it with some fight and organisation
  6. If we grant new signings time to bed in, how come Bree walks into the starting line-up against Newcastle in a cup semi-final?
  7. Would keep Willy in goal tbh, you can see how much better his control and command of his area is than Bazunu's, even if he is pushing 60. Would start ABK over Salisu and Stuart A ahead of his namesake. That said, I'm expecting 5 at the back and Ely and Walcott to start
  8. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23294122.nathan-jones-provides-explanation-southampton-fc-left-back-absence/ Wants 'outcomes' from Perraud. Not sure how 'two goals' would rate as an 'outcome' but you'd guess it wouldn't be deemed as negative??
  9. Post of the day, already 😆😆
  10. Given the amount that we've just spent in this window, the worst and most expensive time.to buy players, you'd think we're relatively stable. It defeats me how the club can spend that much on players but fail to acknowledge where the real problem lies. We are still (for now) a Premiership club and will be attractive to a huge number of managers who want to test themselves or return to this league. Emery and Lopetegui were both available but we dithered so much in dismissing Ralph (which was the right call imo), that those options were no longer available when it came to it. Still can't believe NJ was really the most attractive option out there
  11. But playing KWP at LB and then shoehorning a CB in at RB makes us weaker overall. Play KWP and Perraud in their preferred and strongest positions. We're far more balanced as a team.
  12. This, exactly this. It's just so obvious to everyone watching except our manager.
  13. If the team were set up with four at the back and players being played in their actual positions, I'd be hopeful of getting something out of this game and 3 points isn't unrealistic. Unfortunately, with the clueless prick we've got in charge, we can expect 5 at the back, Ely and Walcott starting in a midfield that gets overrun, a flurry of changes being made after they've scored twice and zero points. Jones is so obviously and palpably out of his depth that it's embarrassing. Get him out now and give us a cat in hell's chance of staying up.
  14. I'm still waiting for it to be ruled out by VAR
  15. Fuck off Jones. Get out of my club
  16. Jeez, how much better does that look?
  17. Hjulmand????
  18. Didn't Ings edge out Carrillo as our record signing??
  19. Walcott, Ely or Djenepo please
  20. If you weigh it up though, play a decent LB and one of the best RBs in the country in their preferred positions as opposed to playing KWP and a CB both out of position, logic suggests the latter would make us more balanced.
  21. Funny that, someone should tell Jones to stop sticking a fucking RB there
  22. Like this apart from Diallo, but not sure who I'd play there. Possibly Alcaraz instead and S Arnstrong on the right if fit.
  23. Just back in the door after a chilly walk home. Some thoughts below: - Bazunu needs dropping. Some absolute howlers with his distribution and when he's anywhere near the ball, you can feel the nervousness in both the crowd and the team. Caballero or McCarthy, don't care, but get the lad out of the firing line. - KWP is our best RB, so FFS play him there. With him and AA on the left, there is zero creativity as neither of them can use their left foot. The whole stadium knows they're going to cut back in. We looked far better balanced and more dangerous when Perraud came on. - Lyanco is a liability. Three stupid challenges from the off and deservedly yellow carded in the 12th minute. Keep him on the bench till he grows a brain, no matter how 'passionate' he is. - Diallo wasn't as bad as some on here are making in. He was much better at breaking up play and making tackles today. Where he was appalling was his distribution, but you could level that accusation at most of the team. We gave the ball away so cheaply today and kept inviting pressure back on ourselves. - Cut out the tippy-tappy playing it out from the back shit. We get the ball, play it around the back four, then pass it back to Bazunu who hoofs it long which we then lose. All it does is give the opposition time to reorganise and get their shape back. - We were second to every second ball today. JWP was up for the fight and felt sorry for him. He put himself about and felt like he was doing other players work. - Difficult to comment on the disallowed goals as you only get to see it once. Couldn't tell if our first goal or theirs were offside. It looked like KWP handled the ball before crossing it in but certainly didn't see a foul from Elyounoussi, who was otherwise a waste of a shirt. - We seem slightly less pleasant to play against but the Villa players were a pack of cheats today, chucking themselves on the ground and conning the (fucking awful) officials over and over again. Weak as piss and so easily influenced. - Still no clear attacking strategy from NJ other than hoof it and let Adams chase it. -As others have posted, what's the point in buying players who don't improve us as a starting XI? - Not convinced buying a new striker is even the solution, as we create very little. Djenepo's effort at the end was the best effort. - Today's subs were generally shit. Ralph-esque in their senselessness. It seems our turned corner was a false dawn. I'm sadly fairly resigned to our going down unless we get two significant signings.
  24. Started brightly, Villa came back into it, much sharper and crisper passing than us. We've started giving it away too easily. Am in the Itchen so can't comment on the offside. Got 1-0 written all over it but both sides have plenty of errors in them
