I think the stick he gets is largely due to his monumental inconsistency. Yes, he's capable of being excellent, but there are too many other days when he runs up his own arse, ignores better placed team mates, makes bad decisions and slows play down when in good attacking opportunities allowing the opposition defence to regroup. He also seems reluctant to pull the trigger when in shooting positions, which is perhaps a confidence issue. That said, if he were more consistent, he probably wouldn't be with us. Have been hugely impressed with his backtracking and defensive workrate since lockdown, and hope he continues with his current vein of form in to next season.

Lallana returning seems to be popping up in a number of places. Re-signing a 32 year old doesn't seem to fit our model at all???

Did our best to throw that away, and should've been out of sight but for wasteful finishing. Could feel that equaliser coming, good old VAR. Redmond is infuriating - slows it down when we're in good attacking positions and is scared of shooting when in good positions. Confidence issue?? Solid back four today and JV was pretty good. Some nice periods of play and decent passing. KWP motm for me.
