Agree with all you've said, but think it's a case of getting what you pay for. I know he doesn't fit our 'model' per se in terms of age and re-sale value, but felt he would've been an ideal player to organise and marshall our back line, and that the other players around him could've learned a lot off him. As it is, we've bought young, untried, untested to solve our glaring weakness and can only hope.....

I fear the level of expectation on Danso may lead to some on here being disappointed. Fervently hope I'm wrong but we're asking an awful lot of a 20 year old CB whose previous English experience was with MK Dons to step into the hardest position on the pitch to adapt to, potentially against Liverpool next week, and expect he's going to sort out our defensive weaknesses.......

Agree with most of this, but would give Redmond a 6. He kept running, working, and trying to make things happen to the end. Ings no higher than 3, did nothing whatsoever, and while I'm one of the ones who believe's Boufal is worth hanging on to, I didn't even see him when he came on.

I admire your optimism, but we've just been thumped by a team who do nothing but pump the ball long. They didn't have to do anything approaching quality football to beat us comfortably. We have nil leadership on the field and look no better whatsoever to last season. All the talk about RH having a preseason to work with the team looks like it's had zero effect. We still make criminal mistakes in defence at this level and didn't offer much up front again. As soon as we went one down, could you really see us coming back? The body language went to **** and there are no leaders out there. I fear a long, long season beckons.....

Is it just me or does the sponsor's logo look a bit off-centre?

Watching the Charity Shield, love the City kit. Simple, classic/retro. Don't know if they're keeping it for the rest of the season, but even the bindippers new NB kit is reminiscent of their 1980s kit and looks classy. How can we f+;k it up so badly??
