We’ve only been played two games - give it time. He got away with one yesterday that was offside and pre-season wasn’t without issues. Some good posts today on this subject. It is however hysterical for posters to suggest people hate him. From my perspective I want us to take the lad out of the firing line and get someone in who can help bring some experience and confidence to the defence. I accept that appears unlikely as things stand and the failure to address that is what people find frustrating; not the lad himself.

I’d rather have Neville Southall in goal - at least he would take up a proper position and marshall the defence

It’s absolutely negligent if we aren’t. It shows whoever makes the decisions at the club don’t understand football and how to build a successful team

Club trying to be clever again instead of doing the obvious thing and buying an experienced championship midfielder. Hopefully he’s more lavia than bazunu or larios ( what’s happened to him ?). We still are a pretty incoherent team and club

It’s in the same category as bazanu or perhaps even worse. The more the window drags on the less confident I am we will sort the fundamental issues that have dogged the club the last couple of years but hope I am wrong

Suspect you will be right but AA has been an abysmal signing and yet he still plays and starts - absolutely abysmal

So our new striker gets insured early on and we are then asking AA or Mara to lead the line. Those are the tactics of a team with not much cash and apparently we are cash rich. I’m not saying adams is perfect but if we sell him we need two proper strikers if we are serious about promotion.

Suspect most championship sides would bite your hand off to sign adams. He’s not the greatest finisher but would be a cut above on this league

We need more than one striker and AA and the other chumps aren’t up to it. If we sell him there’s no guarantee Piroe will join but even if he does then I still think adams makes a significant contribution to a serious promotion push.

Losing of our one striker of any real quality doesn’t seem a good move to me. What does £13 million get you ? Wouldn’t even by the whole of tall Paul and look how that’s turned out. I think he would be a very good operator in the championship

A number of the names you put forward are not strikers. I’d be amazed if we aren’t looking to bring in a striker on the back of sales to date but then again I’m amazed we haven’t brought in a new keeper so who knows. We seem in the past few years to have gone through cycles of buying crap and then having to off load the crap before we can buy new players and rinse and repeat. Our recruitment has been atrocious. Guess that’s why we were relegated

Only the first four are out and out strikers and that’s stretching the definition in the case of the first three. If we continue with those four then we won’t be scoring many goals. It’s no different however to the failure so far to address the deficiencies in the GK, centre back and centre mid positions.

If you’ve got bazanu in goal you are going to concede goals. The stats bear that out. The fact he’s still number one is a good indicator to me that SR haven’t learnt from last season

I get we need to shift some players to buy but it looks certain we will be selling 120million plus of players so why no striker ? We need one or two regardless of who stays and have done for 2 years now so the fact we haven't signed one is a concern.

What about a centre back ?

He’s ok not great. I was more questioning any decision to sell our entire senior centre midfield players with a few weeks to go in the transfer window and the ability of SR to recruit decent replacements. We still feel like a club that doesn’t really have a plan

Who will be the centre mid for this ? Smallbone and Charles - feels lightweight to say the least and more of a U23 offering The issues last season were a shit keeper, lack of commanding centre back, combative midfielder and a forward who can score. none of that has been addressed

Hopefully we can sell our entire centre midfield first squad save for the youngsters and leave it to SR to recruit - what could possibly go wrong….

Still no one sniffing around bazanu - as long as we keep him I’m happy
