Decent window - 9/10 from me We usually buy loads of shit players in January and this time we have loaned just one so feels like progress

He won’t see out the season but I can’t see them sacking him now. They will give him the January window, bring in a few players he has no say in that don’t improve the team, results will continue to be poor and then they will sack him. Following that they will appoint an experienced old head we have never heard of from one of the European leagues ( perhaps the Greek league this time) to shepherd us to the end of the season.

The football has generally been terrible to watch which you could forgive if it produced results but it doesn’t, so why do we persist ? I think that’s what really pisses people off. I would be interested to know if the slow build up play (which is killing us) comes from the club, the manager or the players ? The failure to stop crosses into the box has been the case from the RM years is the other major issue for me. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us go down but I think next year will be more likely

I was sat in the Donny end but I could hear a few chants of ‘SR get out of our club’ in the 2nd half which was fair enough as it was shocking. First half we were so comfortable but 2nd half we seemed to concede all impetus in the centre of the park and were hanging on at the end. the starlings were however great

He has a lot of weaknesses but of them all his positional sense is the worst of them

I thought that was very noticeable against Birmingham- he played a lot of sideways 5-10 yard passes from a largely stationary position

I think their plan was to try and be a Man City lite team hence signing of a load of shit Man City academy players and playing tipppy tappy possession football. The signings clearly didn’t work out and the world has thankfully moved on from the tedious possession based game but we are still stuck in 2021 with the club intent come what may on seeing the plan through till the bitter end.

I think these guys said their project was a ten year plan. I don’t know when they started the project to play terrible crab like football ( maybe after Ralph left) but I reckon we are about 4 years into this bilge, so we have 6 more years to go and I don’t seem changing the ‘Southampton way’. Thought last night was very depressing as we have seen that sort of game so many times now, with the aimless passing from one side of the pitch to the other. The kamikaze passing in your six yard box followed by an aimless boot up field. I can’t understand how we have gone from the football seen at Charlton and Leicester to the crap we had reverted back to in recent games.

Good to see Baz keeps his place

I think the two are chalk and cheese. One is a very average keeper and the other is not a keeper

Another way of assessing how good someone is in comparison is to look at how much transfer interest that player generates. I don’t think Bazanu has generated interest from any club.

It’s a legitimate tactic against a small and physically slight keeper. If the ball beats the first man on the front post we are in trouble and teams have clearly spotted that and teams will continue to target that until he is replaced. If the new guy is all he’s cracked up to be he will see that. It’s like having a weak scrum in rugby - teams will exploit it and you struggle to have a platform to play from. It’s one of the reason we get deeper and deeper as he can’t command his box so the CBs have to compensate and fill the space he should be commanding. It must be a nightmare to play with him as a CB as he has no presence in the six yard box. If there are any CBs on here who would you rather have in goal Baz or McCarthy ?

I am not convinced he could have done much for any of the goals today. The third was a poor goal to concede all round and he got himself in an awkward position. I thought he was lucky to get away with the disallowed goal and he has a habit of rushing from his line and not collecting the ball. His lack of physicality and poor positioning don’t help. If I was the opposition coach and Baz was in goal I would be bombarding the box as he simply doesn’t have the physical attributes or ability to command his box and I don’t think we can underestimate how that can put the team on the back foot in a physical game like today. Would be interesting to know what the defenders like Stephens and THB think to playing with him.

The cnt bit is ott but the following frustrates people : Baz in goal Five at the back Stephen’s at CB and captain The lack of numbers and physicality in CM short guy up front on his own it looks like an unbalanced team less than the sum of its parts

Complete joke but no surprise - he’s come back into the side with no justification and been a pile of nervous, flapping shit responsible for two goals, yet keeps his place.

Get Tonda appointed, give him the January transfer window, sack him a few days after it closes having spent £20million plus on total dog shit and then appoint Mowbray and Lallana as caretaker managers until the end of the of the season, narrowly avoiding relegation - that’s the ‘Southampton Way’….

You may well be right It’s odd though that we spent a considerable sum on Edozie and he’s been banished to the back of beyond yet Baz is still front and centre. Edozie hasn’t set the world alight but he is actually competent in his position
