Early days but I think he’s doing ok. Yes we are obviously still shit but feels like we are less shit then we were and with the exception of the Brentford game we are more competitive and the football has a purpose. However when you concede as many as we do then it’s tough to win a game and the attack we started with is hopeless in this league.
  3. Sounds like just what we need - where do they get these players from ? It’s all so random. I get we’re not an appealing option but why can’t we sign someone who has been round the block, battle hardened and can make an immediate impact to a team desperate for some quality. If we can’t do that don’t bother adding to an already bloated squad. Looks like another punt on someone you’ve never heard of to add to the very long list of speculative transfers
  4. Played really well tonight and felt good to actually be competitive. How often though do our subs make us worse - the squad is so thin and poor Think Juric has had a good influence but still no points unfortunately
  5. shame - played well
  6. a goal from a corner !
  7. think on the back of swansea we will come into this one with confidence high and we will have two actual shots on goal in the game, but lose by several.
  8. I believe he used to be a winger until he was in his late teens and then had a go in goal and the rest is history. he’d probably do a better job than edozie and he might be the better keeper. what a squad we have assembled
  9. don’t count your chickens yet - one of the big boys might snap up irelands no 2.
  10. bit like comparing hitler and stalin in a nice guy competition for what it’s worth McCarthy any day of the week for me - he has the advantage of actually being a goalkeeper
  11. Joking aside we should all get behind him …. and then hopefully one of us can stop the ball going in the net
  12. This is excellent news and will give everyone a lift - if we can get him back in the first team we could well achieve the double of lowest points and earliest calendar relegation - 29 March is the date to beat. COYS
  13. More of the same. If we had instead spent the money buying the likes of Edozie, Larios etc on a few experienced PL players we would be in a better position. Theres nothing wrong picking up players at an early stage but we have shown ourselves to be shit at picking good ones and with the exception of Ramsdale haven’t bought experienced PL players for some time. Good luck to the new lad but no one will be surprised in 18 months to hear he’s heading off to port vale on loan never to be heard of again
  14. If he went would clear the way for the return of Irelands No 2 and if there was ever a signing that summed up the SR era it’s Bazanu
  15. I think we have to be in with a great shout of the earliest relegation in PL history. To some extent it’s out of our hands as it depends on other results but it feels like we can do it. I suspect if we do that we will do the double and take the record low points as well. All to play for - what a season. COYS.
  16. Least number of goals scored from set pieces. At the moment I believe it’s nil.
  17. Nobody would surely disagree that signing players now that are materially better than what we have is a good thing. The real question is whether SR will sign those players and whether they will be hear next season given our inevitable relegation and the appalling recruitment track record.
  18. kevin phillips is a really good example of the type of player we used to sign and who were established PL quality. with the exception of Ramsdale when was the last time we signed one of those when in the PL ?

He’s not to blame for the current shambles but you have to wonder when he will get his first point. We struggle to even have a shot on target never mind score goals Everyone now knows we are relegated and there’s nothing to play for and so how does he motivate the players.
  20. The last two goals yesterday were absolutely abysmal. It’s crazy to think that we have assembled a squad so poor that we have to play the midfield and attack we turned out yesterday. Last season we needed another decent midfielder and yet this season when in the PL we didn’t sign one and now we have joe aribo and a young lad from chelsea. It was a complete mismatch but it’s difficult to blame the manager as what was the alternative ? The recruitment since SR took over has been atrocious. We have signed so many poor players.
  21. think we will lose this one - just a gut feeling Am still confident of a second win this season but think it will need to wait until the Spring when a lot of clubs will have nothing to play for and have one eye on the beach.
  22. I think we will be alright. An attack of AA, Archer and BBD whilst woeful in this league will be up there with the best in the Championship and the likes of Bree, Downes, Aribo and Wood will do a good job. If Juric sticks around he’s already shown in a couple of games that he can make us a lot more competitive and whilst we are still shit at least we are now giving sides a game whereas under Martin it was embarrassing stuff. My optimism will however quickly evaporate if I see Bazanu back between the sticks
  23. If only he’d been fit today - would have been a different story That shot he had at West Brom will live long in the memory
  24. Last season the three that came up went down and the same could well happen again this. That’s not good for the health of the sport and something wil need to be done to address that.. You can’t now even spend to stay up due to FFP. The last team to do that were forest. I think somehow we need to keep hold of our better players for next season and then if we do get promoted we have a fighting chance with a well established core to the team- and we have to stop signing mediocre forwards.
  25. There was a stat on prime yesterday that said we have yet to score from a set piece this season and have had 90 or so corners so far. That coupled with the goals from fuck ups shows how badly coached the team has been. Unfortunately no matter how good the new guy is the forward recruitment means we are down. Thought if we could get a win at either fulham or home at w ham we could maybe get some momentum but yesterday showed it’s pretty hopeless when you just can’t score
