  1. sulemana has had a lot of opportunities and has generally squandered them save for the liverpool game two seasons ago. he’s been a total waste of money, along with the likes of larios, edozie, bazanu, charles, orsic etc I agree on TP however and given our dire goals scored beggars belief he hasn’t played more
  2. You have those teams that entertain with their free flowing football, lots of goals but have defensive frailties and struggle, yet stick to their philosophy and win friends for their entertaining football. We on the other hand stick to our philosophy, are naive, play really dull football, have scored the least number of goals in the football league and will go down with a whimper, with other fans only sorry to see us go because we are an easy three points. It’s difficult to now see what the club is hoping to achieve by persevering and feels like we are in a holding pattern until we lose so many games they have to fire him.
  3. That’s the great thing about the PL. We know Liverpool have the better players and, we are missing our best keeper ( bazanu) and striker ( stewart) but they are coming to our home pitch and they won’t have faced our level of intensity and bravery before in the PL, so it’s been going to be close but I’m going 8- 6 saints and we will double our goals tally for the entire season in one single game
  4. we will certainly miss stewart’s goals
  5. Is there any chance of Ross being back for this one ? Feels like we have missed him since his injury at arsenal.
  6. Having checked the league tables in all four divisions, I see that we have the least number of goals scored by some distance. I appreciate we don’t have the best forward line in history, but it’s a sad indictment of the way we play the game, that it generates so few goals.
  7. What’s the point in spending a lot of money in January, they keep repeating the same mistakes. Suspect by January we will be cut adrift so hopefully they don’t bother and save their cash and spend it more wisely next year, as this season is a write off.
  8. I cannot see us getting 20 points. That assumes we play to our strengths but we won’t so I think we have to assume a hefty discount for the fact we are so badly coached. Looking at the fixture list by the time we get to xmas there’s every chance we will still only have 4 points. Over Xmas looks more promising but we will be effectively down by then so god knows what morale would be like. I will go for low teens - ramsdale will play a couple of blinders and there will be some meaningless matches in the Spring where the other team will be on the beach and that gives us a decent opportunity to pick up a win or two. What a season this is !!!
  9. Most of the players aren’t good enough if we’re honest ( particularly in attack) but it’s whether we want to be relegated with approx 10 points or at least try and make a fight of it. I’m not sure what the club is expecting - it’s not just going to click into place. At the moment we’re not competitive and we have the wrong manager for the current situation and players. Seems pretty obvious but unless there’s someone better waiting in the wings what’s the point ? Ultimately we were shit during our last season in the PL and we are even worse now and you can only lay so much of that on RM. The club is not well run and the recruitment has with a few exceptions been really poor so I hope we don’t piss more money up the wall in January until we’ve got a decent scouting set up but I won’t hold my breath for that
  10. Shea Charles is doing very well according to what I was told by a couple of Owls fans. The prospect of a return for Irelands no.1 is pretty depressing - another total aberration by the club
  11. We will be relegated regardless of who the manager is, but we have lost 9 of 11 games and there is no sign of any improvement. It’s clearly not going to click and the club is kidding itself if it thinks we are within touching distance of nirvana. It’s a flawed philosophy and we are just too easy to play against. Once we are all but relegated ( this could be before Xmas) morale will drop like a stone. We could conceivably lose 30 games + this season ! I can’t see how he survives that whatever great plans they have and this looks like it could be the worst season in our history. Agreed on Fernandes but our recruitment for some time now has been poor and we have wasted so much money
  12. Mclaren and casper ?
  13. basically it would cost a bazanu or a shea charles given our propensity to waste money on shit players seems relatively cheap
  14. bazanu
  15. Looks like we will be effectively down by Xmas as that was last chance saloon today. No shots on target in a must win game. I still think he will be here by Xmas but I can’t see him being here next season whatever guff SR might talk about ten year plans. Once we are effectively down the morale will drop like a stone and we will be on the end of some serious hidings and it will start to get toxic quickly. I just can’t see SR not capitulating before the end of the season.. They won’t of course act when it’s still possible to do something to change the outcome ( albeit with our attack I think most managers would struggle to keep us up) but I can’t se him getting through this season as it’s going to be pretty grim. We’ve already lost 9 from 11 and can anyone see it getting better ? There absolutely nothing to indicate it will. But as we keep saying who on earth will they appoint next. I have no faith in these guys at all and you get the feeling most decent managers will give us a wide berth.
  16. yes - fantastic save at the foot of the post
  17. We won a game in the PL !! Needed a bit of luck and helps having a keeper who can make saves
  18. looks like a championship side
  19. Will this be the day we finally win a game in the PL ? Have lost count but it must be now 23 or so games since we did so. That really is abysmal stuff
  20. Feels like he will be here for a while regardless of results. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him still here next season following our inevitable relegation. He’s being found out this season.. His game management is really poor and it’s clear he’s not one of those coaches who can make the sum greater than the parts. Quite the opposite really. In his defence however he he was given little to work with offensively this season. I don’t know what input he had on signing the likes of BBD and Cornet and even Archer to a degree but we have the worst attack in the PL and if you were the likes of Moyes you would look at that attack and think theres no chance i’m keeping them up. God knows what the owners think to all this but for the fans it’s been a dire season and it doesn’t feel like we will start wining games regularly again until next season and it’s only November.
  21. been following saints since 1982 and he’s the worst keeper in all that time
  22. peak bravery this board feels quiet a symptom of the fact we all know we we are going down (in october)
  23. It’s pretty depressing that we are no longer taking about staying up but getting a respectable number of points to avoid embarrassment I wonder if the club has the same approach or if they genuinely believe we can stay up. If they don’t then it might explain why RM is still here
  24. makes sense - in order to get back to where we are now we have to pursue a strategy that first gets us relegated it’s almost impossible to see him turning this around as we need to stop conceding goals and at no point in his managerial career has been able to set a team up to to defend equally there is no point sacking him if we don’t have a good replacement lined up and I’m not sure a top manager will be interested
