  1. There was a stat on prime yesterday that said we have yet to score from a set piece this season and have had 90 or so corners so far. That coupled with the goals from fuck ups shows how badly coached the team has been. Unfortunately no matter how good the new guy is the forward recruitment means we are down. Thought if we could get a win at either fulham or home at w ham we could maybe get some momentum but yesterday showed it’s pretty hopeless when you just can’t score
  2. First time this season we actually look like a competitive PL team
  3. Think it’s too early in his tenure for a win or even a goal but I think we will show more positive intent than in the Fulham game and have 4 shots with 2 of those on target. In the continuous absence of Stewart(lets hope he’s back for pre-season), am hoping to see Armstrong up front and on his own with no one near him providing support
  4. RM was a poor coach but the totally abject nature of our forward line is and has been since they arrived on SR. I can’t be bothered to look but has there been a team at this stage of the season with less shots on target than us? Signing the Sheff united strike force was inexplicable really

    Ivan Juric

Let’s be honest he’s got a pretty ordinary record, his last job ended badly and there’s nothing to indicate he’s anything other than a stop gap appointment. If he can get us our second PL win of the season he will be a hit for me

He’s ticked the boxes for me. Few had heard of him, he’s out of work, his last appointment was a poor one, his average stay as coach is a year - lets gets behind him until we aren’t
  7. He was apparently second choice to Nathan Jones - no disgrace in that
  8. I’m expecting the new manager to be : 1. currently out of work; 2. someone we’ve never heard of; 3.has had at least one disastrous prior managerial appointment; 4. someone who has never won anything as a coach; and 5 prepared to toe the line with the current board and not seek to stamp his own identity on the club and will leave in no more than 18 months.
  9. Thought the new guy had some funny ideas such as instructing the players to get the ball into the box and even though it was another defeat it felt good to see a more direct style of play. The midfield still looks very powderpuff and hopefully we can bring in an experienced DM in January to give us a bit more bite in there
  10. first half was poor but second half was much better
  11. It’s difficult to know what our level is at the moment as that first half was very poor guess confidence is totally shot
  12. We look so poor and lightweight in midfield Five at the back clearly doesn’t help but it’s so underpowered As for the ‘attack’ it’s none existent
  13. We are down so Rohl seems a good choice as he knows the club and the championship
  14. The board tend to go for mediocre managers they can manipulate so they won’t go for a decent name ( even in the unlikely event one was willing to come) so we can expect someone we’ve probably never heard of and who has achieved little or nothing in their career to date but will toe the line
  15. Unless the board have effectively given up trying to successfully run a football club, I can’t see how he survives that result and performance.
  16. defensively we look like a pub side
  17. dreadful defending
  18. I thought the random selection tombola would give a start to BBD but instead it was Sulemana i know we are weak up top but the constant tinkering removes any chance of a pattern of play and a understanding developing
  19. We are 8 goals behind Wolves in the set pieces goals conceded this season so have some work to do there
  20. I expect by March at the current rate of accumulation. If we can sign Bamford in January might be even later
  21. he’s a poor coach but he was given a pretty terrible hand in terms of our forward recruitment ( assuming that he didn’t target the shed united strike force)
  22. I like Souness as a person and pundit - he seems a decent human being. Would he be a better coach than RM ? Probably
  23. Still feel we will win a second game in the PL this season but can’t see that being on Sunday. Spurs will have too much for us, however I’m not ruling out a goal but we do need to have a shot on target. Spurs are not great so it will be one of those games where we look better and there is a lot of bravery and heart, but we will conspire to lose again through a lack of belief. At St Marys football is more about emotions than tactics and ability. Also thinking the tombola selection machine might give a start to BBD for the first time in a couple of months but who knows. whatever happens it will be an eventful matchday 16
  24. I thought the forward third recruitment in the summer spoke volumes really about ambition was ridiculous to think archer, armstrong, BBD and an injury prone stewart would be a credible strike force
  25. No one with any kudos is going to come here at the moment, so lets be realistic. We are bound to be relegated, have one of the worst attacks in the PL in recent memory, one proper CM and a bloated squad that has only a few decent players you might consider PL standard. I’d agree we get rid of RM otherwise it’s going to turn toxic pretty soon and he’s run his course, but you’d be concerned who they would bring in. these are the people who thought that nathan jones was a good fit. At least lampard is otherwise engaged.
