  1. I get it, and we were very lucky in the first half to not go down at least 3. Keeper, Bree fantastic and did what was required. No way could Boro keep up that first half for 90 mins. Tired them at home, defended unbelievably. The stats said no shots on goal, no passes in the last third. 24% possession. But I’m guessing that was the plan and hit them second half which we did. Yes agree the plan looked crap because our touches were awful, and lost possession and second balls ect ect ect. But it worked, nil nil is a great result taking it back home. We could have done with the plan of a second half goal. Boro will not play like they did 1st half today at ours. They went all out today. They won’t do that again, technically it looks like we are playing the long game to get to Wembley. Yes we looked awful 1st half and got away with it. But stuck to the plan it seems, and didn’t panic, and got the result. IMO obviously.
  2. Exactly what some are saying, first half was the game plan. Second half went to plan apart from coming away with a goal or two. Boro 1st half were playing chaotic football that produced some incredible chances, but play like that in the Prem you will get destroyed. We played like we were Prem pedigree. If we go back up, I can’t see us repeating the last time. We on that grown up performance should comfortably stay in the Prem.
  3. City draw was the one. But take the play offs all day long. I’m guessing the bookies will have a Saints v Millwall final. That’s a game.
  4. I think it was Shearer that said in commentary that BM of course don’t just have any players. He has been very good, and yes BM I guess know what they are doing.
  5. I hope he does really well. Part of a fantastic young grassroots squad that were unbelievable. Most of the half dozen that were picked up still playing at a good level.
  6. Unfortunately every week we are looking like a journey Champ Club. There is nothing to suggest there is a 100 million to spend to make us a genuine established Prem team anymore. Says it all when Sky Sports chooses a Girls game to showcase the main event Sunday Lunchtime instead of one of biggest derby games in the country. Safe Journey home.
  7. All venture capital businesses have an exit strategy. SR is just a that, invest, change the board and put in your own people, cost cut, asset strip and sell what remains. Making a huge amount of money in the process. It’s clear something has gone wrong in their process, and can no longer recoup or make as much money as they thought. They are not here because they have Southampton FC running through their veins and have been watching since they were 5 or 6. It’s a business to them and they have fcuk’d up. It’s now a matter of how much can we get back, because the investment has completely failed. They will either cut their losses which they won’t do, but will hang on until they can wring out every last penny from what ever bit of the club they can. They appear to be in far deeper than they expected.
  8. Hate to say it but hope they put Ben Garner in charge now. That would then complete the total collapse of our club and put us out of our misery. Then hopefully we can rebuild after everyone at the club realise they are not going to make any money from football because they are completely useless at understanding the game. Get the clown Garner in now, it’s the only way to destroy what little respect is left. Then hopefully someone with an ounce of anything in the real world can make us a decent Prem team again.
  9. Always said he was the best era of our recent history. Him and Marcus had it continued who knows where we would be, certainly not where we are now. The difficult person and how everyone didn’t like him, well I don’t buy that. The price of success, total commitment and love. Rupert anyone……
  10. The only way is to pull at Katharina’s heart strings in the name of her father. Horrible thing to do, but enough time has passed, if she can be bothered to do anything with her 20% voting rights. She must still have an emotional attachment to the club by not selling completely. Football is all emotion, so perhaps she needs reminding, she can’t need the money. Sport Republic is only a Venture Capital Company, so will have no emotional connection apart from what the balance sheet says. The direction of feeling should be directed too Katharina for anything meaningful to happen.
  11. How in any universe is this absolute Kermit still anywhere near a football pitch. Let me rephrase, how have they let him out of his padded room. Both my lads are Gasheads, which unfortunately has enabled me watch this poor excuse of a PE teacher in actual game time and live through his appalling very short lived tenure at the club through two hard core fans. That 100% is absolutely no disrespect to PE teachers because they are useful and do a fantastic job. I would not allow this complete fool to look after my goldfish if I was away for a night. What the fcuk are we even thinking, do we not read a CV and then actually check the facts. It’s not as if his CV is a secret, just watch video replays anywhere. Wow, needless to say my two boys are absolutely pi55ing themselves, as though they don’t need anymore ammunition against their old man 😂😂😂
  12. Just seems the minute a contract is signed it descends into chaos. What did he say at half time……….
  13. I was half heartedly having a laugh with my last post tbf. But genuinely I would take Southgate, I know he’s not attack minded and won’t win anything. But would get a promotion and give us some credibility. Think it’s a fit for both parties at this moment. Can’t see a Prem team coming in for him anytime soon.
  14. I’d have given Still more time, he will seriously walk into a top job. Koeman type no thank you, inherited a team not for me. Frank absolutely, won’t happen, other Frank absolutely not. Internally no, from lower leagues no. Hate to say it but Southgate to steady the ship instil discipline, Ralph 💯 %, Farq’s yes. Jose pipe dream. Should have gone for Warnock 5 or 6 managers ago, not now obviously. I’d even take the nutter Barton with his connections, but that ship has sailed now he is doing his “”Podcast””??? Roy Keane yes, Rooney no But to be honest as a lot have said, who will come now apart from those looking for a payday.
  15. If this comes off, will be great both on field and the dressing room. Must have the armband. However was this in the 5 year plan document written by the grown ups at the Club as the direction they wanted to go right at the beginning. Just re- enforces the complete lack of accountability, plan, direction, decision making and DNA that is seriously lacking at the top. Welcome back if we can get it sorted. I still wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley. But you have to question what is the actual short medium long term goal of the owners. Sticking plasters and what a sticking plaster by the way are normally only just that. A temporary solution until you can get to a long term fix.
