Yep the formation played a huge difference. Fellows higher up, Wellington at LB. Scienza hugging the touchline with an actual physical presence holding the ball up. Anyone that thinks this formation didn’t improve us is on the wind up.

It’s genuinely really, really, really infuriating that he did the absolute basic things most people have been crying out for and we looked like a different team. What a fucking waste of a season

I know he’s the champ top scorer. I know we won’t replace his goals because our scouts are idiots… but I still would not give a single shit if he goes. Im so bored of watching him mince about missing easy chances, never winning a header, rarely competing. At least if he goes the club would be forced to do something different. (Even if different ends up being even worse…) That’s how bored I am of everything about this team

For me, Downes really epitomises how bad our coaching and management is. He was actually a decent player when he arrived, ok not so good on the turn and can’t shoot, but he was very good for the championship. We’ve somehow turned him into one of the worst midfielders in the league. The formation & tactics just don’t help him at all, he’s not smart or mobile enough to play in a 2 or be creative. He can break up play and act as a metronome to tick the team over. But he’s being asked to do more than that; it’s just not working at all. (Although a lot of it is probably just caused by the fact that he looks like he doesn’t want to be here.) We should offload this window tbh. I’d love to see Manning gone too, ASAP

Feel the same. Horrific yesterday. As bad as when we went to league one before, but with even more expensive and unlikeable players with no connection to the fans whatsoever. It’s all feels basically pointless until SR leave. Even if he pumps in more cash, they’ll waste it all over & over.
