The problem with what you are suggesting is that what one person terms “nonsense” others deem as important issues. This is why free speech is fundamental to a free society. Ideas should be heard and then dismissed based on their merits. The fact is, these riots aren’t being caused by “nonsense” or social media incitement. They are being caused by decades of neglect of the interests of the working class of the country by a government who lies and gaslights them.

The way I view it (and I appreciate you don’t agree) is that social media is not the problem. People are angry because they are being ignored. Social media is the platform that gives people a voice. By pretending that social media is the issue, he is yet again ignoring people’s valid concerns and fanning the flames of division

That was the conclusion of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) last week, when it warned that UK joblessness will soar from 4.8pc last year to 5.5pc by the end of 2026. When Labour took office in July 2024, unemployment was just 4.1pc.
