Feel that’s very harsh, Fraser worked hard defensively and made some great tackles and blocks. I can see why the sub was made, need to keep Sulemana fresh for Tuesday. I also think it’s funny the smug comments on here. We won because Martin decided to do all of the very obvious things that the fans have been crying out for. He basically abandoned his philosophy and played to the players strengths for once. Long may it continue.

Completely agree. If there was even the slightest positive to cling on to I would say that he deserves more time as we desperately need to stop chopping and changing. But he is fucking awful. What positives do you see that Martin has brought to the club so far? If you’re so positive that he just needs time and is a good manager, what are you basing that on? It’s all very well coming on calling people tools and acting like you know more than everyone else but what gives you this confidence?

Agree. Most championship teams would kill for the quality in our squad. That’s the first thing every single opposition fan says. Leicester and Leeds the only two with equal or better players. It’s all on the coaching. Absolute shit show. They have been coached to avoid running, creativity & common sense. They get outworked every game and as a wise man (Adkins) once said: ‘hard work beats talent, if talent doesn’t work hard’

Just absurd & weird comments. Fan base was fully behind him and buzzing for a fresh start. St Mary’s and all the away games have been sell outs. Doesn’t get much worse than today. Most worrying part is the noises coming from Martin that he still thinks we are playing OK. Player ratings from me: Bazunu - 6/10. Awful for the first goal. As the old saying goes; ‘there’s a fine line between brave and stupid’. These owners and management wouldn’t want to be be seen to be doing anything too obvious - like defending. We are much too brave for that. Personally I don’t think ignoring the strengths of your squad by playing strikers in midfield and midfielders in defence is brave. I don’t think losing every single aerial duel or giving the ball away from your own set pieces is brave. I don’t think passing your team mates into trouble on the edge of your own box is brave. I think it’s fucking stupid. But what do I know? I’m only a fan.

Neil warnock has a decent record of keeping teams up in the championship... Honestly as above,I never thought I’d say it but I would take someone like him or allardyce now. I just want common sense and basic defensive awareness drilled back into the team. When we went up before, that’s all we did. Pardew did the basics well, Adkins added some attaking impetus and then poch etc. added flair and built on the solid foundations. Right now it feels like we are trying to run before we can even walk. We lose every aerial duel, we can’t pass five yards, we concede from ever corner. Lots of work to be done whether we stick or twist. (I assume we will stick for a long time yet)

It is truly unbelievable how dumb everyone at Southampton FC are. About 80% of fans knew Nathan Jones was an awful appointment. About 90% of fans knew RM wasn’t the right appointment. 100% of fans knew the line up against Ipswich would end in defeat. Yet they are all so busy wanking each other off at their own brilliance they forget that real life is different from statistics. They do not value experience, character or the physical aspects of the game whatsoever so all the metrics that they use for scouting and recruitment are completely flawed. They see who has good pass completion and possession stats and sign them whatever the cost. Fucking ludicrous way to run a football club. The only saving grace i have is knowing they’ve pissed all their own money up the wall. Cheers for destroying the club you absolute clusterfuck of bell ends.
