He’s doing OK, but it’s justified to think he could be doing better. As stated, goal difference is bad & we have lost or drew with some absolute dross. Very difficult to say whether we are winning because of him or in spite of him at this point considering our strong squad. I think there are fair arguments either way.

I like him. Been solid so far for us. Don’t get the dislike really. Your guess that he’s not dynamic enough is probably a good one, he sometimes looks like he’s playing at walking pace. But I think it’s just the way he runs as he always puts in a shift.

I remember when the PL said “it’s unfair to punish the fans” by giving the big six a points deduction. I hate Everton a lot, but I still can’t wrap my head around such a big punishment for such a minor crime, when we have seen way worse things go unpunished. It properly stinks tbh.

Funny seeing Everton docked points. But it’s a joke that the PL are willing to deduct points from lower clubs and not the money clubs.

Watford are playing well. That will be tough. QPR away is always tough as well.

Yep, all these smug posts are a fucking boring to be honest. He got off to a bad start but is now turning it around. We are winning - but even more importantly - we are defending well, with something to build on now. He has shown an adaptability and willing to change that none of us knew he had. On top of that he has done multiple interviews and revealed that he is a top bloke. Fans were justified to be worried at the start. We looked ragged and all signs pointed toward him being too stubborn to change. But he has adapted brilliantly. (Don’t get me wrong, there are still some worrying signs - we still haven’t put anyone to the sword and seem to give the opposition chances to get back into it instead of dominating a game fully.) But for now I really like what I see and am very happy to give him more time, as are most fans. All we asked is to see the club doing the basics well and give us a platform to build on - and we are now. Credit to him

Didn’t really get much of a chance, did some good defensive work and held the ball up a couple of times. He was playing weirdly deep as it was the end of the game.

Massively agree, much easier to support a fantastic bloke than a helmet like Nathan Jones. The fact we are starting to see results from his management is all the sweeter after reading that.

Please be good. The best times supporting saints are when we have a prolific number 9.. the type of player that you start to expect to score every week. Beattie, lambert, Pelle, ings. If he’s even half as good as those guys it will make games so much more entertaining.

Brilliant is massively stretching it. He’s done OK but still pretty poor. He is so unproductive and flatters to deceive. For all his pace he has only put one decent cross in all game. There is certainly potential there if he can sort his head out though. I would much prefer to have kept Tella over him.

Amen. Couldn’t agree more with this. Football died the day the Sky Sports Premier League was formed and has been getting worse ever since. The big clubs are untouchable, meaning the premier league is no longer a sport. Id prefer to stay in the championship if it didn’t mean being raided over & over again. Proper fans, proper football. All clubs of our size are stuck between a rock and a hard place really. You have to strive to be the best you can be, but there is a glass ceiling formed by money & corruption.

Absolute gaslighting tosh. Everyone is happy at the recent results, it’s the playing style people were rightly questioning plus the ridiculously leaky defence. Martin has had a good couple of weeks, but stop pretending it has been an amazing season so far. If he can keep these performance levels up then he will earn the fans trust. But not before.

I think a big part of the issue is that we have had multiple managers in succession which do bat shit crazy stuff and get the worst out of the team. It means the fans question bat shit tactics and performances when they see them more quickly and he has been given less of a grace period. But this week shows that he is doing something right. Continuing to select Bree after mannings shocking performances, making decent substitutions yesterday and our all round game was very good. Long may it continue and credit to him.

Get in!! Well done Russ. That was the performance I wanted to see. Still had our post half time wobble, but in general a much more positive performance all over the park. Lovely

😂😂 harsh but fair. I think he forgets that we have seen genuine world class managers and talent at the club in the very recent past. I am willing to give him a chance, but let’s be real Russ, you need to prove that you are like 10% as good as a Poch or a Koeman. Saints fans are a patient bunch but we know what world class coaching looks like and it isn’t conceding 4 goals a game, conceding from your own corners and stubbornly playing a system that doesn’t suit the playing squad. Realistically he is very, very lucky that our batshit owners have appointed him based on his record.
