Says a lot about how low the bar is when people prefer McCarthy to Bazunu. In this league, the only keepers worse than McCarthy are Baz and Danny Ward.
-
This one is spot on to the above. 😂 Jeez, he’s got to be one of the worst managers ever when you factor in the level and money involved, surely?
-
Football fans know his ‘philosophy’ all too well. When Leicester were linked with him, their fans called out his one-dimensional suicideball straight away, they didn't want him. Rangers fans didn't want him. He nearly threw away our promotion because his sides couldn’t defend to save their lives, and that was with the second-biggest budget in the league. Which really makes you wonder: what game is he talking behind closed doors that keeps getting him employed?
-
As bad a manager as you’ll ever see. Proof that watching peak Pep-ball on YouTube doesn’t qualify you to run a professional side. What a complete fraud.
-
No different now. McCarthy will still clown around and drop the odd howler, but at least he makes the routine saves. Still a better option than the league’s worst shot-stopper.
-
McCarthy’s a bit of a circus act in goal, but I’d still have him ahead of Baz almost every time
-
Still early days, but we all know where he'll end on the charts. Bazunu - Premier League 2022/2023 shot stopping (xG), ranked 39 out of 39. (worst -xG on record) Bazunu - Championship 2023/2024 shot stopping (xG), ranked 46 out of 46. (on track to worst -xG on record, before injury)
-
All we’re doing is lowering his value by continuing to play him. Baz ranked as the worst shot-stopper in 22/23 and 23/24, and I’d wager he’ll manage the hat-trick this season.
-
Committed to his philosophy no matter the cost. In theory you’d think it should work for Rangers in a weak Scottish league, but RM’s such a shit tactician it doesn’t. Let this be a warning to the suicideball disciples: parroting peak tiki-taka and outdated Pep-ball off YouTube clips doesn’t qualify you to manage a football team.

Bednarek been part of two 0-9 defeats. Quite an accomplishment.
-
Take it from Saints fans Tuchel, we know shit football when we see it.
-
Would love for us to sign Nuno Mendez, what a player!

In Southgate we trust.

1) Jan Bednarek had the highest possession percentage in the Premier League over the first 10 rounds last season, and was top 3 during RM’s entire tenure, in the entire fkn Premier League. And let’s be honest, big Jan is a donkey on the ball, which leads us to the following: 2) Most defensive errors leading to goals in PL history, and we “achieved” that by halfway through the season. For context, Sheffield United conceded 104 goals in their recent relegation season and still didn’t manage as many defensive errors. Says everything about how self-inflicted so many of our goals were. 3) Fewest attempts on goal and touches in the opposition half. So, with all that possession, what exactly did we achieve?

I’ve been quite surprised by how many Rangers and Leicester fans picked up on RM’s stubborn brand of suicideball last season. We’re hardly a top-six club with wall-to-wall media coverage, which just goes to show how much of a laughing stock we really became.
