Quite, and the headlines in the Telegraph and Mail today are pathetic. I’d have more respect, albeit strongly disagree, for their editors if they just said what they really want which is ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Those two are well out of lockstep with the British public. Arab nations are putting a lot of pressure on the Palestinians to ditch Hamas and Iran if they want rebuilding help and the Palestinians badly need to start making some better choices.

I agree but Ryan ought to be first choice. That said, Bazunu v Wrexham seems likely and it’s up to him to show he’s improved 200% from his last outing. Having seen the Liege highlights very recently I very much doubt it but the club are determined to claw some of Gavin’s fee back even if it risks costs promotion.
-
Not concerned about that, concerned about ensuring Saints have a reliable goalkeeper option next season, which Ryan is far more likely to be.
-
Probably, but it’s an obvious move now given the circumstances. Ryan isn’t perfect but for Championship he’s far better than Gavin or Alex, and has been managed by Still very recently.

A few weeks ago and not the most reliable source https://saintsmarching.com/former-arsenal-goalkeeper-lined-up-to-replace-aaron-ramsdale-at-southampton Apparently fell out with Potter at Brighton, kept them up under Hughton, very good core keeping skills but his flaw is short passing, everything goes long. But that’s not an issue next season, we need the opposite of Baz who does pass well but no core keeping skills. Went on loan at Arsenal. Seems so obvious as a move to make that SR being contrary will probably recruit a keeper from the Slovenian second tier instead.

Agree with the top part… But nah, not the second, Mat Ryan is on a free, just played well for Will Still at Lens and heaps of good experience for Brighton in the Prem. If he wants to join, #1 is sorted next season and #2 sorted if we go up. Simples. No need to gamble on Baz or Alex.
-
Looks like @woodsaint1 suggested Mat Ryan and has worked for Still successfully and lots of English experience at Brighton - gets my vote.
-
I hope you’re right but that they are obviously better than Gavin straight away in training so Still picks them. Don’t mind Bazunu as #2 so much.

Not necessarily if they retain the registration as they did with Reading but threaten disqualification if the owner doesn’t sell by X date. The issue there was that the owner played brinkmanship right to the last minute. The EFL Board either needs more teeth, or to work more closely with football creditors and HMRC to force sales much earlier. The National League has to deal with their piss poor governance after Morecambe’s relegation. And the ground safety issues are more than enough to trigger FAPP. An iconic 9000 seater stand very dangerously rusted to bits. And thousands of people sat in that last season. I’ve been there to watch Saints over many years and it’s not had a penny piece in maintenance for at least 10 years. Given that stadium’s history, that’s astonishing.

They did as new business interests in China pulled up red flags (no pun intended) https://www.stadiumrant.com/sell-or-sink-the-efl-forces-reading-fc/ I agree with Simon Church’s summation of the EFL board though https://rdg.today/former-reading-fc-player-describes-efl-as-f-morons-following-latest-takeover-statement/

Did well working with Wolves. Solak having a similar tie-up to a top agent would’ve made a boat load more sense than relying on Ankerson, and made him money not lose it hand over fist.
-
Withhold the Golden Share or whatever it’s called these days. They’ll need to play the first 3-4 games away anyway with kids as their iconic North Stand has failed safety inspections, or rather he won’t let it be done properly. Kill your fans. Nice. Solak is inept but at least he’s not that bad. Poundings deduction comes with it but as with us in 08/09 it’s the least of the issues https://eflanalysis.com/news/finance-expert-explains-why-administration-is-best-outcome-for-dejphon-chansiri-and-sheffield-wednesday/
-
Force administration - he’s missed so many payrolls and payments to football creditors they can enforce it. Or stoke HMRC into doing it if they’re feeling cowardly. Or find a Leon Crouch figure who has lent him money to put them into it.
-
Quick to hand out points deductions (except Leicester) and transfer embargoes but when they need to put their screw up right in approving a rogue owner - silence. On a smaller scale, see Morecambe. Not that the PL were any better with us and allowing Gao through.

8 years service during the club’s second worst spell in living memory, 250 appearances, got our money back, could’ve been a lot worse. Hoedt, Vestergaard and others were signed for far more money and were total turd, not even that good really, so can’t complain too much about Jan. He’s been part of some horrific moments - 2x 9-0 - but then the club has been horrific to support 2017-present bar Ralph’s first few months and Project Restart, so hardly his fault in a lot of ways.
-
I doubt it, Alpine was actually pictured on here with other forum members at a pre-season game in either Austria or Switzerland. Long time ago but I think it was possibly under Poch, or Ronald at a push. Was a very prolific poster and then just vanished.
-
True, but part of the stupidity was making those two transfers into a whole recruitment strategy and that becoming what seemed like 75% of the players purchased, completely forgetting about building a team and a spine to compete properly.
-
Couldn’t have done any worse if he physically been either,
-
No, he was 2021 I think from Torino.
-
Which would end up heavily subsidised. We’re very light in wide areas, especially with Edozie sale, so even with a couple of incomings Ryan would still get some appearances and maybe an impact sub as he was 23/24?
-
Sam was too lightweight for the PL which City fans warned about but actually one of the markedly better players in the first half of our last Champ campaign until Stacey’s dirty (and should’ve been red card) foul at Norwich wiped him out. As with Baz, very mixed Belgian spell but that’s a good manager and club to get him back in track. If the fee is broadly right, that could work out for all parties.
-
Given how poorly the club’s been run since Ronald left, accelerated by SR, I can’t really blame them tbh from a professional perspective. Ralph hid the decline but even he ran out of steam. Good luck to Still, he will need it.
-
‘It’s one apiece here in the South Coast derby at St Mary’s into added on time, Colby Bishop here with a low shot, not much power, Bazunu should save that to his left, oh, it’s in!! Look at the reaction in the away end, Portsmouth are set for their first league win in Southampton for 37 years!’
-
Tone down the abuse. If you can’t debate in a civilised and intelligent way without going the personal route, don’t debate at all. Go and give your head a good wobble. Goodnight. And yes, Still would like to change the wide and forward areas up, but he can’t because we are stuck with the likes of BBD, who is far worse than Che Adams.

Bet Dale Vince tries it at FGR. Mad as a box of frogs.
