If you thought the Wrexham masturbation was bad last Saturday (I’ve got nothing against their owners, club or fans btw, quite like what they’ve done and how they’ve done it) it was even worse still yesterday with their home game v WBA. You’d think they were playing at the Maracana. Did my head in all the stuff about Luton and the ‘Kenny’ during their PL season.

Needs a hold up striker which we don’t have. Might have to make a quick assessment before the end of August about whether Downs is ready to be that yet.
-
Wood for me, knows this league at least. Not the right time for playing SR projects in the more difficult games.
-
Although I’d argue Spors needs to sort it out for him. Is only using it because we lack the wide players and hold up striker we need. Starting to make Les Reed look dynamic.

Three big Weetabix this morning hopefully.

Some of the local trees have started turning colour on their leaves. I put it down to a lack of water getting to the roots through the lesser rainfall. Blackberries started getting ripe in late July, heat accelerating them and then we had that few days of rain in early August - perfect for them.

If a Bundesliga club can stump up a couple of million Euro plus his wages, they’ll have themselves a Bargain Hunt.
-
If you like real ale and craft beer, I rate it as one of the top 5 places in the UK. Fat Cat is too out of the way for the football ground but a must earlier in the day or next day if you’re on annual leave.

Yes sorry, that is exactly what I meant - sell Dibling in the shorter contract and keep Fernandes on the longer.
-
Aka BBD, and our homegrown variety eg Smallbone. Jury out on Archer and Stewart could still that be category unless staying fit. McCarthy as well. Sugawara jury out in too.
-
How many were starts?
-
Well, there is one, lots of nominal/low fees. Unfortunately, SR are still a bit naive around this aspect. Good at selling for big fees until the Dibling mess, but take Aribo. Only cost £6m, sell him for a couple of mill and dump the wages. Heard they were still wanting to turn a profit and it’s not happening, They had to do it on Onachu but you can tell they didn’t like it.
-
Smallbone wouldn’t cope with how Still sets up so if they can’t sell him it’s a loan out and free transfer. Aribo possibly a bit more but he doesn’t want to be here - his agent needs a rocket up the arse. I’ve seen quicker conveyancing solicitors. Loan at the last minute at worst but realistically I think he’ll be sold for £2-3m. Larger wages a factor.
-
With how late it’s all been left, one of Dibling or Fernandes can’t be sold now, preferably the latter with the longer contract. Loans in now I’d imagine. Two wide players and another CM required regardless of squad size. As long as it’s within PSR, SR will have to suck it up. Consequences from letting Martin and Ankerson run amok.
-
Edozie needs to bin his agent off. Made a useless decision last summer to decline Rangers and go to Anderlecht where he didn’t make much of an impression, and the faffing about this summer has probably cost him what would have been a very good move to Strasbourg. Aribo and his agent need a clear deadline to get a move completed by or he’s in the u23s for the season.

Hmmm, I think I can see what might happen..

Their manager is several levels beyond anything we’ve had since Ronald or Poch. Sky love a bit of controversy but honestly, we shouldn’t be at the stage of fans shouting racist comments at players. It should’ve been stamped out by the 1990s.

Not if you’re Putin or Russia. Trump (yet again) got taken to the cleaners by him. Art of the Deal my arse.
-
Haven’t done it yet I’m afraid.

It would appear so https://www.empireofthekop.com/2025/08/15/liverpool-bournemouth-premier-league-antoine-semenyo-racism/

It’s better than getting banned for making tasteless airplane gestures as two of our twats did to the Cardiff fans from the Itchen North.

My grandfather, a Southampton docker and Army boxing champion, was a POW on the Burma railway. He hated them with a passion, chased a Japanese chef off a vessel in the docks after the war. As Nick said, Hirohito was a scumbag of the highest order for never apologising. No reflection on the current Japanese generation of course but the UK state visit 1980s by Hirohito stuck in our family’s craw.

Probably the Kassam or whatever it’s called these days. A four sided ground will feel so much better. That will be two three-sided grounds visited this season with Wrexham and the gap where their new Kop stand will go next season/building work. The North Stand has been allowed to re-open at Hillsborough so that’s back to four again.

Whoever made the alleged comment to Semenyo, he’s certainly made them choke on it during the second half.

Well done to Oxford United on being granted planning permission for their new stadium https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgjy19xgv45o
