  1. On here, in the media and his ego will hate that, once it spreads further into the stadiums, then it will be reported on. He’s already faced protests at Goztepe and it sounds like Valenciennes fans are gearing up. Saints fans are not the quickest on the uptake but I’d say he’s finally getting rumbled as the main source of SR’s ills. As far as Saints go, the Nathan Jones blooper cost circa £13m I heard and RM won’t be far off that. Yet every day he clings into him, the more fatal the damage to Rasmus.
  2. Didn’t he say similar after Alex’s playing out blooper opening day as well?
  3. Surely Dragan must be questioning what is going on at Southampton and Valenciennes? Martin is severely damaging not only SFC, but Rasmus, Dragan and the SR brand with every game and every mistake ‘playing out’.
  4. Imagine the state of the fans forums by May if he’s still here somehow (he won’t be). Stadium definitely starting to ferment today with his petulant behaviour that us plebs don’t share his ‘Philosophy’. And that was after a very decent display marred by more Conference South goals caused by ‘playing out’. I looked at the UI for the first time in months, smaller sample size but on here is quite civilised compared to the febrile atmosphere on there. Sorry 8x8 lads, you won’t enjoy hearing that. Clinging onto Martin is also putting Rasmus into the spotlight and his CV being seriously scrutinised. If Valenciennes are still in mid-table in a part-time league, SR will need to deal with the fallout of protests there as well. Sell up and buy a chain of hotels or something.
  5. Easy - a decent, basic manager gets the best out of his/her staff and resources budget. It was his choice to renew Alex and well known at the club that working with his feet is not his strength so tell him to do what is comfortable. Which it clear it out longer. Andrew Caddick the very tall former England quick used to struggle being instructed to bowl fuller until Fletcher and Hussain took over. They wrote on the team board before games ‘Caddick bowl Caddick length’. Funnily enough, the final years of his Test cricket were stacked with wickets in tandem with Gough.
  6. He will hate that being a Brighton lad and all. Bring it on I say, he is no more likely to change or become self-aware than Branfoot was 30 years ago. Both stuck in ‘their way’. Once a manager decides to criticise/sneer at the fanbase as he is doing, there is only ever one winner. He can be as friendly with Rasmus as he wants, and Ankerson is very much in the fans firing lines now as the Blackmore BBC piece last week underlined as well, but it counts for shit when you are losing games at that rate. Even worse is the goals conceded, approaching 2 a game even at the level below, and it’s approaching 3 this year. Which when your defence has THB, JB and KWP is criminal at that level last year so being back in the top flight is not the outlier. He is unable to organise and coach the basics and the players don’t look fit.
  7. Hopefully and most importantly Sports Republic. Absolute disaster at SFC, increasingly so at Valenciennes, and very mixed at Goztepe. With the parachute payments and infrastructure there, it’s a decent proposition for someone who knows that they are doing. Otherwise this is going to turn into Venkys at Blackburn or the Reading situation.
  8. Rasmus is preparing a compensation package to the Bochum board of directors as I type.
  9. He looks like a goblin but I don’t care. Actually has a far superior record to Martin and without the Leicester/Forest rivalry as a drag anchor would be fine.
  10. Because he works for these, or is commissioned by them https://www.8x8.com/events/southamptonfc-2024?locale=uk Subtle as a fart in Winchester Cathedral as well.

  12. It means the pressure is getting to him and he is cracking. We don’t want his horrific slow keepball anymore than we wanted the full backs to launch it blind under Branfoot. Russell and his methods are being exposed for what they are. Rasmus next.
  13. Cooper suffered with the Forest connection. Everyone thinks of Forest v Derby but Leicester is not a nice rivalry either. None of that would be an issue at SFC.
  14. The fans in the ground were better today in calling out Martin-ball, especially with the jeers and booing for their first pathetic goal and ironic cheering at Alex kicking long which wasn’t aimed at the player. Need far more of that. But don’t let up when Rasmus finally calls his vape buddy on Teams. Keep on SR’s case until they get the club back to the established PL outfit they inherited and were supposed to improve.

  16. Agree with all of that post, and you aren’t unreasonable at all to think Rasmus will probably appoint Goztepe’s manager before enjoying another vape, judging by his horrific track-record (Brentford is 100% Phil Giles). Dragan dissolving SR and re-formulating with a new overall DoF and new investors is the only long-term way out of this debacle.
  17. See the man”s own words post-match. Indisputable on how he wants them to play.
  18. He wants them to always play out, not mix it and move it quicker as a variation. Russell Martin’s own words,
  19. Possibly a bit optimistic but clear the players can and will compete given the licence/ability to ignore the preening, grass-picking buffoon on the touch line. Also 100% clear the manager is the problem and the temperature change from the media and fans was detectable today. He will be toast shortly.
  20. Sugawara was a bit unfortunate, that was ball to hand via a deflection. But the dropping off and slow passing encouraged Liverpool’s press to reassemble and create the situation in the first place.
  21. He should have fallen with the month but that bullshitter who line manages him and used to make Phil Giles transfer spreadsheets at Brentford knows better. And Giles’s tea. Bet it tasted rank as well. Overstewed just like our playing out from the back obsessively.
  22. We didn’t - you never do if you gift a CL side three goals straight from the Tyro League. When the players told the manager to fuck off I agree we were well in the game, moving the ball much faster, asking Liverpool questions, Paul holding up really well, Dibling and AA going at people. The players showed yet again they can compete but only with the shackles off. They are too cosseted to be ambitious and chuck him under the bus, to the club’s detriment.
  23. The main issue was him pushing the defence and midfield back. Perhaps he needs a grow a pair of 90s style curtains so long that he can’t see the pitch?
  24. Has shown some promising signs but needs a manager who understands the need to play off the shoulder. Funeral build up doesn’t suit him. He’d have thrived earlier in the second half when the players chucked Russball in the bin where it belongs and mived it much faster, troubling this league’s best.
  25. Agree with all of that. Their first comes from the managers instructions, kick the fucker upfield past the press, not straight into it. Second is an individual error but if you come for it, clear the opponent and the ball into row Z, and the third is default sitting deep albeit a suspect decision.
