Easy, far stricter gun laws so less chance of a being gunned down by a MAGA nutcase, much lower crime rates in the main, far lower cost of living (Toronto 44% less than NYC), miles better healthcare system for much less cost, public education system similarly streets ahead. Consequently, more socially inclusive overall, a consequence of better educational attainment. The only advantages to the US are slightly lower taxes (but you gain so much more quality of life in Canada, unless you are hardcore MAGA/GOP) and the weather. Both have great natural scenery so score draw there. https://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/1012/u.s.-or-canada-which-country-is-best-to-call-home.aspx

Americans would have a far better quality of life that way.

Absolutely nuts and clearly basic due diligence not run. SR will be pestering for you the contact, perfect for them.

Fortunately no-one has copied his message so can’t see the sheer stupidity of whatever it is, but some going to be drunk on a Saturday morning a couple of hours before the Fox & Hounds, Vine, Plough or Linden Tree are even open. If they haven’t all banned him that is for being obnoxious. John isn’t the most popular. Definitely not a Jolly Sailor customer, that’s for sure. After all, who wants to get drunkenly harassed about American politics when you’re having what’s supposed to be a nice lunch with family in a British pub on the Hampshire coast?

Agree with all of that. If Smallbone wants to be a leading Champ player and RoI international starter in central areas of the pitch, he needs to hit the weights and protein diet starting now and he may be more in contention by pre-season. It’s not just Saints in the PL, he looked like a Tyro League player in the Nations League game against Rice et al. Martin should have done it but bottled it. Juric needs to give him the same pep talk Ralph gave JWP - get physically and mentally more robust or you can’t feature regularly in the 18. Then we might see if he can step up. Has the touch and eye for goal, not sure if athletic enough but being a couple of stone and a shirt size bulkier with muscle will help with competing, holding opponents off and pressing effectively.

Bit of a burger to deal with apparently but will give the club a good kick up the bun.

TBF Will did go on to be very popular with their fans. I think he was encouraged to toughen up to compete and he has does have a very good first touch and passes first time smartly, as we saw in the PO Final. His familiarity with the division got him out of jail last season and scored some good goals which is another attribute. Sadly, Martin’s environment didn’t push him to get to the gym for building up some strength to hold players off and compete better as he did at Stoke. It was obvious he wasn’t going to compete in the heat of a PL midfield with that body shape, it should have been obvious to Russell and the club’s sports science/nutrition and he should have been jetting off on holiday with a strict protein and weights regime. The player has to take responsibility too but we know that’s been a weakness since 2017. It’s only the players like Ings and Stuart Armstrong who have come from bigger and more professional environments who have succeeded at SFC because they bypass the lazy SFC culture. EDIT - Ivan needs to buy him a nice big Fillet Steak at Staplewood everyday.

Sounds more like a replacement for Rasmus tbh. Maybe Dragan is keeping him in Turkey and focusing him on Goztepe operations?

Let’s hope this new Sporting Director, if it is to be Spors, starts bringing in players with the athleticism and physicality to cope with competing for the autos and then PL like Wolves did under Nuno as the core of the squad if we get back there at some stage. Ely, Vesty, AA - we’ve been signing/developing players who get swamped and dominated physically. Victor/Morgan are what you need in CM. Downes could do a job if he gets help and can bulk up slightly. Lesley has been dire, not an athlete, fortunately Chelsea’s issue. The smaller technical players are the icing on the cake when the core squad is built.
-
Yes, lost too many loved ones to it. Truly lost his sense of perspective there, it is only sport.
-
Sounds a very decent appointment on paper but needs total independence from Rasmus. No more ‘Mr Football’. Rasmus has to stick to Goztepe only.

It was a bad one and he should apologise. Cancer and football outcomes aren’t comparable and should never be.
-
It’s the club as well though. I remember Drew Surman was talented but a bit weedy when he played for us, Mick McCarthy got him on the weights and protein at Wolves and went onto have a good PL career with them, Norwich and Wolves. After the euphoria of Wembley Will should have been told ‘well done, but you can’t play PL central midfield 10 stone dripping wet. Here’s a weight training and protein diet regime, we need a stone of muscle development by mid-July. We will loan you out again if you aren’t physically able to compete in the top flight’.
-
It was a dreadful comment though, much as I like Ottawa. I’m sure he’ll apologise on Atlantic time. Second part of your sentence you have either the wrong part of the forum - politics is for the lounge - or mistaken this for Conservative Home.co.uk

The Duncan Goodhue substitution really messed up what had been the best performance of the season.

His posts will dry up again (pity he won’t) in the spring when he can drink outdoors again all day. Plus he’s excited about the inauguration and probably boring all of his neighbours (‘did you hear that, tut, John’s drunk again’). He probably wants to wank, but given that it’s like trying to play snooker with a rope for him, he takes out his excitement/frustrations on here instead.

Unless you are 7 pints deep in Carling or Stella, have cracked a bottle of cheap wine from Lidl open by lunchtime, and are very sad, bitter and lonely, you logically wouldn’t.
-
He was already on ignore a long time ago for me but sadly people keep on quoting his Carling-fuelled ramblings. Agree with you calling him a wanker though.
-
If it was a choice between having to sit at an England game next one of the two Johns - Misselbrook or Westwood - I’d actually have to take a nose peg to the match and blank out the skate tattoos. Alcohol-wise not much between them.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

Won’t happen. Tulip whatshername going means Torsten Bell gets closer to the policy levers in the Treasury and that’s a good thing. -

That was an average as well, some regions up to summer of 2016 were growing faster and all of the political wrangling, uncertainty and turmoil which followed even before COVID and the lockdowns, Truss and anything have/haven’t done has screwed investment confidence and the huge visa rises and health surcharges imposed by Braverman which Labour is far too slow to roll back has totally deterred incoming exceptional talent in AI, hi-tech and the sciences. It takes decades to get those pipelines going again with domestic only and then they’ve got to want to stay when you have! Elon Musk is a total nutcase but even he can see the folly judging by his battles with the GOP over their high skill visas of what Braverman and Farage wanted.
