  1. No chance they make the play-offs this season, none. They could next season, probably Hampshire plod’s worst nightmare if Saints met them in the semi-finals. But there’s plenty of clubs more likely to, and they’d have to improve their wretched form away from the toothless, stinking ‘Old Girl’ they call home.
  2. https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/good-riddance-as-12-million-west-ham-man-is-reportedly-open-to-joining-his-former-club/ From the player’s end I suspect. Unless BBD is signed by the Blades when they go up, we will have him, AA coming back, Onachu, Sulemana and Stewart, unless we are going to finally enforce retirement on the one striker with a worse injury record than Danny. Danny is washed up at top flight level, could do a good job for a season below that I’m sure, but at least 2 or more need to move on first.
  3. https://www.thedailybeast.com/putins-useful-idiots-jd-vance-slammed-by-his-own-cousin-nate-who-fought-in-ukraine/ Sounds like the wrong Vance is VP. This one is brave, can string a sentence together and walk in a straight line.

  5. Both forums IIRC - S4E in 2006 when Lowe was under pressure to step down - and in 2008/9.
  6. He played BBD feeding off a target man in McBurnie. Not as a flippin’ winger.
  7. They could still be competing for top 2 if they re-invest well although wages will be their issue. They will go up automatically I suspect.
  8. Thanks for posting that article, takes us back in time! One thing that hasn’t changed is the subtle as a fart in church PR plants in the comments section from the time. This forum was littered with them at the time as well, not dissimilar to when Martin was manager earlier this season although not in the same volume as then.
  9. Yeah I want Leeds to go up this year.
  10. Care to share?
  11. I don’t think Calpol or Olbas Oil can help with the symptoms of being a stroppy tart.
  12. Still escalating between them https://news.sky.com/story/nigel-farage-and-rupert-lowe-escalate-feud-with-new-war-of-words-13324667 Inviting Nigel Farage to dinner again. Lowe just tweeted alleging that Senior Reform figures have been briefing journalists that he has dementia
  13. Please do share your recollections!
  14. Maggie misses you so much Wussellll 💔😭😫😤🥵😍
  15. Yes, not compulsory but he’s been scoring every other game for them so far, and he did well for Wilder before in the PL for half a season on Wilder’s return, even if Sheff Utd didn’t. Wilder did well first season up.
  16. He certainly did, although his public image was rather punctured by two relegations, the Woodward/Clifford sagas and December 2008’s AGM culminating in his being coined by Richard Chorley. The spending of 2006/7 further accelerated the club towards the abyss but fact was we were heading there under Lowe at a good speed already. The idea that he could manage a nation’s economy well is hilarious.
  17. It wont be £ for £ as some needs to be held back in case we don’t make it back up in 2 years/huge investment in a whole squad if promoted. It’s better than 2023 as there isn’t the damage from a January splurge, SAA brought in a bit and if Sheff Utd get autos that’s probably £10m in the bank from BBD so a small profit there. Dibling, Fernandes and THB should get buyers by pre-season starting, Ramsdale might take longer. So we should have a very good Champ promotion squad budget overall but the amount of transactions is daunting plus a new manager. Hope Spors doesn’t have a holiday planned.
  18. A lot of the refs not from major conurbations I always suspect are closet Liverpool and Man U plastics.
  19. Operative word being ‘handy’
  20. Sadly I agree. Lloyd wasn’t especially quick either, whereas Yuki has a turn of pace so Jon Otsemobor is probably the comparator I’d make. Both quite lively getting forward, Yuki can also put in a lovely cross but defensively you draw the curtains as disaster looms.
  21. A spot in the Japanese volleyball team for 2028 awaits.
  22. Led a regional movement which helped bring in tens of millions to one of the most deprived parts of the country. Didn’t take a penny out of it, not expenses even. Did it on top of a full time head of department job as well. Plenty of able people on here so I expect there’s others. And no large estate in Withington to fall back on.
  23. Something about North London Yobbos
  24. Lee Todd was a left back. Jones paid £850k for him, sold to Bradford 12 months on for £250k and only played 15 games there, after 10 for Saints. Legend at Stockport but although Dave Jones was tidy in the transfer market, not one of his better deals. Topical to today, he did play the full 90 in our 3-2 win at Anfield (David James decapitating Matt Oakley near enough for a penalty).
