  1. Heading for Palace
  2. I’ve got a book about that 1978 case to read over Xmas.
  3. Sounds like a sweet, cheap Portuguese 🍷
  4. The Henrik Kraft interview a few weeks ago where he referred to Rasmus as ‘Mr Football’ across the SR group. Which is a bit like referring to Frank Spencer as Mr Safe Construction at Balfour Beattie.
  5. Would be a good appointment for Charlton, Plymouth, Stoke, Preston, Pompey - that bracket of clubs at lower Champ/League One. Lacks any of the top leagues experience for Southampton Football Club which the club sorely needs and his nationality cements Rasmus’s dismal place in Sports Republic. I’m sure he will be better than Martin but will also do what he’s told by Rasmus Ankerson. Prepare for life bobbing between Championship and League One if Rasmus keeps control.
  6. Not even that good.
  7. An element of that, and also a theory that clubs got disrupted by coaching teams moving en masse with managers as he experienced with Hoddle so had a bee in his bonnet there. Agree with the season just being about pride, more organised and fitter players. Squad needs to be smaller in January, quantity over quality for what the 7th year in a row.
  8. To be fair to SR, they are carrying on the behaviours of Semmens and co although they should challenge themselves to do better. With Semmens, Toby Steele and that ex-Millwall plonker as head of security, we had block 1 closed, loads of ejections which were dubious, the padded seats debacle in the Kingsland. Plus the ‘lucky to be here’ stuff at the fans forum. Not an easy club to like let alone love in recent years.
  9. Moyes wanted the job but Lowe insisted he couldn’t bring his back room team from PNE due to some shitty theory Rupert had in his head, being the ruddy faced dickhead that he is.
  10. Their manager plays exactly how a modern PL team should between 7th and 17th. Accept you won’t win the possession stats in some games, press, use it well when you have the ball, play your quicker forwards in early but with a central striker who can hold it up. Buy a squad of athletic, agile, technically good but not yet top, top players to fit that system. Worked for Adkins, Poch, Ronald and with a much shittier squad early Ralph, it’s not rocket science unless you are a dinlow from Denmark (yes Rasmus, I mean you).
  11. I did that once when Saints were playing at Spurs on Sky. Score was 0-1 when I boiled the kettle and made several drinks. By the time I’d made and brought the round of drinks in (I’d heard friends and family moaning) it was 4-1 to Spurs. From another grim era under Ian Branfoot.
  12. It was probably in the contract but further evidence of Rasmus and Wilcox’s inexperience to have that instead of a significant bonus. It was hardly Neil Warnock and his record of promotions.
  13. Politics goes in the Lounge. HTH. I don’t give a shit if he ignored Sunak, Starmer, Davey, Farage, whoever. He didn’t want to be part of a political photo op during a game. Martin was a terrible football manager at PL level but you’d have to support a political party like a football club yourself to be bothered by that.
  14. Trousers will be crusty as anything with the excitement of reading LD’s post ☝️
  15. No major leagues experience. No thanks Rasmus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kasper_Hjulmand Would be very underwhelming compared to Rohl, Cooper, Moyes etc. Let him get experience at Plymouth, Preston or Stoke first. If he gets them into the play offs then maybe in the future.
  16. Fucking hope so. Rasmus and Kraft need dissolvIng out of SR, we can do similar to Wolves and their relationship to Mendes for recruitment. Or go balls out for Dan Ashworth to run SR. Better than more top 6 politics, he enjoyed it at Brighton and could an interesting project to re-wire Saints. Dragan does need another major investor or two to really do a multi club model justice but don’t mind him per se, the two Danish jokers are another story. Rasmus has been totally exposed. I’ve felt for a little while he was on the way out (or maybe just me hoping, as his sort never get their comeuppance at work).
  17. A much better balanced post. Did not enjoy his style of football at all, same as Branfoot, but didn’t dislike either of them as people because that’s just irrational. Probably is a decent bloke if you met him, and there’s far bigger issue behind the alarming slump of our football club. Rasmus is a different story, now he is arrogant and with very little justification. We’ve all got wide boys like him in our workplaces and companies, say the right things in meetings but that’s all they ever do. No idea of how to operationise and when they do it’s a clusterfuck. Don’t hate him per se but hate professionally what he represents. At least Martin has managed three clubs, played in the PL, internationally. Rasmus just made Phil Giles some spreadsheets and cups of tea. Dreading who he will select next.
  18. Oi, leave our local EFL side alone! 😉
  19. Something I would more than accept is a manager who tells Rasmus to keep his nose out and insists on the final and 100% say on all recruitment of players. A new DoF as well, Bitcon is a Rasmus lackey and a plastic Xmas tree pretending to be a Norwegian spruce. We might actually end up with a better player transfer success rate of 1 in 10 and be able to fit the first team squad into a single dressing room, which would be a novelty under SR.
  20. Milking the tourists whilst they can.
  21. Not our issue thankfully. If he could knock the aimless passing around at the back on the head, I could see him being a good Academy Director at the one of the ECL clubs, as long as other more specialist coaches are setting down basic organisation and shape. If not, then lower Champ/League one and bigger League two outfits are probably his future if he wants to carry on trying first team management roles. Not sure he’s suited to them though.
  22. Good at pacifying babies though. Which is ideal for this squad.
  23. Allegedly fell out with Ralph as well.
  24. Had a busy night with the OS statement.
  25. Midlands isn’t that far to relocate from 😉
