  1. Then what’s the point of supporting them? As I said elsewhere if there was fight, if there was a manager who could adapt to at least compete then I wouldn’t mind. To be honest I think you are the deluded one supporting a manager who clearly isn’t up to it.
  2. Biggest issue is constant team changing? If only. The biggest issue is having a manager who is inept but has a my way or the highway attitude, who thinks that despite the world and his wife ( not only the weird fans) knowing for a certainty that his way won’t work in the PL won’t change, who won’t pick his best team (to be fair there’s not a lot to choose from), who spouts enough crap and hot air to make the planet 2 degrees hotter, the list goes on. I suppose I ought to get off the fence and say what I really think…..
  3. The Brighton manager is 31. He seems competent.
  4. Not only this but they are collectively taking the p*ss out of the fans, the ones who turn up week after week to watch this garbage overseen by a manager whose chief asset is bullsh*t (witness the pressers and after match interviews) which is not backed up by any top level management capability whatsoever. This is seemingly condoned by the owners who by letting it go on would appear to be content with and resigned to the fact that we will go down. They owe it to us as much as to anybody to reinstall some pride in our club. If we were to go down fighting tooth and nail, playing something that at least resembles good football, do you know what I wouldn’t mind. But what we are seeing at the moment does not make me proud to be a Saints fan.
  5. You know you're old when people are talking about false number nines, double pivots, playing with verticality and your immediate reaction is WTF?
  6. Do you reckon they'll do a manager swap?
  7. Just watched a bit of RM’s presser. If bullshit was ten pound notes that man would be a billionaire. Disclaimer . If we start winning I reserve the right to completely change my mind and display how fickle I am and lavish him with praise. If…that word again.
  8. ...or realists?
  9. How far adrift at the bottom do you want to be before you decide enough is enough? Unfortunately I don't believe that time is one luxury any manager has in the Premier League. You've pretty much got to get it right straight away.
  10. If, perhaps the smallest word in the English language with the biggest ramifications.
  11. Oh for a flurry from someone in our next few games
  12. Compared to our strikers he is.
  13. I think different opinions are available on that. I keep hearing this stuff about how the Premier League is the best in the world, probably the top eight clubs in it are, the rest are not.
  14. It does seem strange how Che Adams seems to be thriving and scoring goals in Italy playing under a new manager and system.
  15. This is one of the fixtures that in the euphoria of early season I would've hoped we would win. However stark reality has come early this year, just like Christmas in all the big shops, after watching forest and Ipswich a healthy dose of realism has kicked in, so as always hope for the best fear the worst. One thing for sure if Saints did emotional rollercoasters they'd be the best.
  16. So….if, as according to you, we have the players to stay in the league but are still struggling at the bottom both in terms of position and, in my opinion, style of play, where does the responsibility lie? Couldn’t possibly be the aforementioned style of play our manager dictates could it? I can only judge on what I’ve seen at St. Mary’s so far this season, and the politest way I can put it is that, again in my opinion, the way we are playing atm is too naive to survive. I am very apprehensive about our fixtures against the better teams in the division but, as always with Saints, hope for the best, fear the worst.
  17. I would be interested to know your reasons for that statement. Unfortunately at this moment in time I fear the opposite, based on what I've seen so far this season. So unless there is a complete sea change atm I don't see too many grounds for optimism. However, strangely that doesn't bother me too much, I really enjoyed the championship season.
  18. It's bordering on the bizarre how different people see the game in so many different ways. But having watched yesterday's game and the preceding two home games for me this is the long and the short of it. Yesterday it was Ipswich we were playing against not Arsenal not Man City not Liverpool or any of the other fancied teams in the league, and yet the way they cut through us on occasion verged on the embarrassing. We just do not know how to defend. Forget the not scoring goals, not conceding is the base from which all teams can build. Whether our problems are coaching problems, not playing the right players or combination of those players, I don't know but I'm not paid big bucksto sort it out. All I know is that from what I've seen this season at Saint Mary's whatever it is it's just not working.
  19. It would be very unusual to win the lottery twice....
  20. Probably because anything is better than what we've got now
  21. Can you think of any other reason then because I'm budgerigared if I can.
  22. What are we gaining from the current situation, freezing out srguably the most talented of our CBs, talent which we are sorely in need of at the moment.
  23. I think that's fair enough if you are talking about teams that have viable alternatives who are on a par if not better than the players you are thinking of dropping, I would think that Alex Ferguson's Man U teams were a prime example of that. Unfortunately we don't have that luxury in my opinion, we have to play our best team week after week no matter what otherwise we simply won't survive in the PL.
  24. So I suppose the opposite of that is that he keeps playing JS because he’s a ‘good guy’ and gets on with everybody? Sorry, but if you don’t play your best players then you’re not really going to succeed at the highest level are you?
  25. I disagree a bit there. I don’t think he needs a reason other than his ‘it’s my way or the highway approach’. Whether or not a player is creative, inventive or even Messi in disguise unless he fits RM’s vanity project of proving his way is better than anybody else’s’ in the PL (which would seem not to be working so far), he stands no chance under Martin. Yes, I know, people will shout TD but I feel even he is being kept in check and that we have to yet see the full fat version of him. And yes I will eat humungeous slices of humble pie if his way does end up working. I hope I’m wrong over this, this is my club, and I want it to do well but under you know who I am apprehensive.
