I can’t think of any names off of the top of my head but for me what might be intriguing is if under this manager who reportedly might go about things a bit differently to what we’ve been used to recently can revitalise a few players who we might just have written off. Charlie Taylor is maybe one. I think that the transfer window, the pre season and the early part of next season could be very interesting. Of course, then I’ll wake up and realism will set in…

Who knew that a quality ball played into a tall striker in the area can sometimes result in a goal.... also not much impressed me about Arsenal today except Odegard absolutely busted a gut to get forward for his goal. I don't think I saw any of our players do that at any stage today.

His ego and bloated self belief in his perceived abilities will always preclude that.

I think the difference there is that there is a vast gulf in quality between the present THB and the then JWP. THB has not performed at all well for a while now so imo we would struggle to get anywhere near that figure for him.

The second sentence is why it's unlikely that the first sentence will happen.

Is it thought that he (whoever he is, and I’m assuming it will be a he) will be appointed soon after this season ends so he can have a say in the players bought in?

So pleased for Palace. I frigging hate city with a vengeance, and Guardiola in particular. In my view he is responsible for so much of what is wrong with modern football.

Can't be worse than this season.

Doesn’t that depend on who we can get rid of? I kept reading about (mainly on this forum so it must be true…) what a bloated squad we have made up of mainly not mediocre but certainly not the best players. So if that is correct then I would think we have to offload a few of these before we can get many more in.

I don't think we've had that for awhile now. The problem I see is how do we attract players who can attain these heights? As far as I know we're not the best payers in the league, I don't think it's going to be an easy ride to promotion next season, so if we're not careful all we are going to get is more average championship dross. Of course we could get lucky and unearth a gem as with Fernandes, but I can't believe that we would be that lucky again. Perhaps a lot will depend on our choice of manager, or rather the manager who chooses us.
