I think we've done good business with both him and TD. Also quite pleased with who we're bringing in so far, but trying to rein that in as I've been optimistic in a couple of the previous transfer windows.

Any player involved in previous managers' systems would have found it difficult to shine, they would have turned Messi into Smallbone within a month. I would at least give him till January to see if there is a player there when the uncertainty of the transfer window is gone, and perhaps a settled team evolves playing this manager's football.

I like how to St Mirren goalie has caught the ball on a couple of occasions rather than punch or parry. Quite refreshing in this day and age, seems to be a dying trait.

If we had done that deal in reverse, i.e. bought him for that people on here would be raging. How many have we bought for potential and they've come to nothing. Good deal and dare I say it from what I saw last season good riddance.
