  1. Sorry, saw this article online: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/may/02/conservatives-philippa-stroud-gay-cure ...the Guardian is gutter press as much as the rest. The title is misleading, and the sources are dubious at best.
  2. This is what makes me sick about lefties. Not one comment on this thread by Dune has been racist, but immediately, because he doesn't subscribe to your way of thinking he must be a racist. You can have an opinion on immigration, you can want fairer taxes even if you earn a decent wage, and you can want those who don't want to work to have their benefits taken away without being a bigoted racist. Just because you don't agree with us, doesn't make us wrong. Sort yourself out!
  3. A post like this will always be clouded by someone's political views and I'm the same, but how can anyone claim the Guardian is anything but left wing??? I tend to buy either the mail (because it has good sport and is in line with my political thinking) or the telegraph. Never go near the express, mirror, sun, or guardian. The times can be ok but not really my cup of tea.
  4. I don't know you from Adam, Invicta Saint, but I would be very surprised if you don't have left leanings and/or vote for Labour? Purely, because a newspaper agrees with your line of thinking doesn't make it less of a rag. The Mail is reactionary, opinionated and has an agenda, in exactly the same way that the Guardian does, but like my first point it is considered more acceptable because it leans to the left. A lot like happens in other events when comparing the left and the right. FWIW: Sun - a bit of a joke and a comedy read. Never take anything seriously. Mirror - dangerous because it seems to think it's actual credible, but quite often laughworthy. Times - don't like the journalistic style, and sport is rubbish also tends to be a little bit too left for me Telegraph - would buy it and enjoy but it's too bloody big. Tabloid version would be awesome! Guardian - very lefty orientated and has obvious agenda. Uses comment to portray view of paper by trying to say this is independent speech from the author. Mail - reactionary and has agenda but good sport and a good read.
  5. ...but it does!
  6. I always think the guardian is as bad as the mail, but because it's on the left it's always considered acceptable.
  7. What about for the verse: He wasn't getting paid at Crystal Pal-ace, when we found him. He heads the ball and tackles hard, We're going to win. We're going to win. Jose Fonte Baby, Jose Fonte whoa.
  8. Oh, the irony! You say statistics can be very misleading, yet you use them to support your argument. It can never be proved beyond doubt which one of the arguments is true, but quite frankly, if 100 people getting stopped prevents one crime, then that's a-ok in my book!
  9. I'd be interested in this stat as well. If twice as many ethnic minorities are stopped, but they commit twice as many crimes that could have been prevented by stop and search then surely it's justified? I honestly don't have any idea what the numbers would be, but I would doubt that there are any 'publically' available stats on this.
  10. I'm pretty sure that there must have been violence involved. Otherwise, some people's arguments would be that as long as your robbery isn's successful in monetary terms, it's all ok. i.e man goes into post office threatens staff with knife but then gets spooked and runs out. He didn't steal anything so is it ok that he goes free?
  11. There was an episode of the west wing that had the different types of maps as a focus, and I think it mentioned about the Peters map.
  12. I witnessed that as well Chez (by the Alfred pub). However, if you do give gestures out of the window then people will say something!
  13. When Ormerod used to play for us, he always used to make a comment about it on Sky whenever talking about Brett Favre (a famous quarterback for the non NFL fans).
  14. I'm really not bothered about them, and like the poster above says, this tends to wind them up more than saying you hate them. The only thing that winds me up is Scottish MPs being able to vote on English matters (the Eats Lothian debate or something??).
  15. As rare as it is, I have to say I agree with Alpine. We can't seem to raise our games on crappy pitches. We can't blame the pitch because teams like Norwich, Leeds, Colchester all seem to be able to get wins.
  16. Not sure about most wins but my best team is: Davis Thomas Fonte Jaidi Harding Antonio Schneiderlin Hammond Lallana Waigo Lambert
  17. I will be in the Chapel but will be singing til I've got no voice left tomorrow. I wish it was scarves instead of cards. Looked awesome on Tuesday with all the scarves held up.
  18. He is a much better right back than Otsemebor and James and would be my first choice every week. I don't understand why he was dropped for the last few games.
  19. I can't see Gecko's shirts either!
  20. I like the above a lot. Could be spoken like the Norwich 'on the ball city' chant?
  21. Stu, what would you opinion be of my degree and choices for doing it. I did history at Royal Holloway knowing that I was unlikely to ever to go into anything history related as a career. However, without having a degree, I would never have been able to get my job or the prospects it has opened up, as it was for graduates only. Sadly, this is what Labour have done to the degree system. Rather than offering relevant apprenticehsips etc, they have decided that everyone should go to uni, ignoring the fact that mofor most people it isn't appropriate. I agree with your point about crap degrees entirely. In my opinion the only ones that should be offered are the ones that are important enough to do at school. Humanities Sciences Maths English subjects Technologies Languages
  22. Despite what people from outside Eastleigh say it's actually not a bad place to live. What makes me laugh is when anyone from Bishopstoke, Shirley, Millbrook, Thornhill, Portswood, and Bitterne slag off Eastleigh, as most parts of these places are far worse. I live just outside in Boyatt Wood which is a great place to live.
  23. This is the point (also referred to above about banning hoodies). Many places already do ask people to remove helmets, hoodies, scarves etc when entering. It is a security issue. However, when anyone raises any issue regarding Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, or Hindus they are immediately accused of having prejudice, and unfortunately a lot of the people who raise these issues are guilty as charged. I'm English, proud of my country, it's original values, and history, but much of this has unfortunately been hijacked by the BNP, EDL etc with their racists views.
  24. I presume you have some connection with Jacob Mellis? It comes across that way. He has been woeful in the times I have seen him this year. I've been to every home game and 7 away games. It is difficult to understand if he either doesn't have the ability or doesn't have the application as he hasn't played enough, but either way he has been poor!

    Snow

We have a fair bit in Boyatt Wood and it's snowing heavily again now. SNOW DAY!
