Help Adkins already had a promotion under him by this point. I feel the same way though, really liked the way Adkins handled himself from day one, seemed modest yet capable. Martin was far more single minded from day 1. That did not help.

Just looking at the stats of our season and it's been extremely encouraging seeing the attendances we have been getting this season. Taking the two most comparable seasons to this, 05/06 and 11/12. 05/06. First attendance v Wolves. 24,600. Only once did the attendance go over 30,000. V Leeds United. Otherwise the peak was circa 27,000. 11/12. First attendance v Leeds. 25,800. The attendance did go above 30,000 for a few games. First v West Ham. (32k) Brighton (31k) Palace (32k, Boxing Day) Bristol City (30k) Doncaster (30k, Start of the run in) Then The Skates, Reading and Coventry. (Average circa 32k) But, the more typical number was around 24,000. Even going as low as 21,300 v Peterborough. This season, off the back of our worst season in living memory, the attendances have been averaging well into the high 20 thousands. Lowest v Ipswich at 27,000. Highest v QPR at 30,400. 4 more games over 30,000. So, clearly, something is going in the right direction.

On the basis of it being a very beneficial transfer, it probably won't happen.

After 24 games, we are now 1 point ahead of Nigel Adkins' promotion winning side. Even given the weaknesses that still exist in our squad. We beat Plymouth he would be 4 points ahead. He's doing amazing work. Just imagine what he could do with a late 20's Rickie Lambert instead of Ché Adams.

Even Che couldn't miss that one

Hope this is a day where we take our chances.

With Leeds dropping points, it hopefully isn't too much to ask for a professional display by us today.

Preston back ahead, great strike.

A shame for Jo that he will be away just when he is finally starting to get a good run in the side. But, good luck to him.

A possible Banana skin. I don't think we will win. 2-2.

No Dilemma. Stick with what works.

Loved how Charly expressed his apologies for the penalty f**k up after his goal. A feeling of making amends, self awareness and humility. Admirable traits and provide hopefully an insight into his own work ethic. He is blowing hot and cold at the moment but he definitely fits the Guly-esque cult hero role.

Saints 4 actual goals vs 0 Blackburn - Match Thread

Disagree, that was Jay Rod's song...... -
I would go one step further and say we would struggle from 7th......

That cr@p September makes the difference. I firmly believe it's given us too much to do. Fingers crossed for a trip to Wembley.

Nice to see us going against type!!!

That's not our style.

We seem determined to do this in an almost joyless, labourous way. Despite the ability some of our squad have. Not that the three points are in themselves objectionable.
-
This is shite. I'm going to do everyone a favour and stop watching, swear I curse the side when I make an effort to see them.
-
Baz keeping us in this.

Met an American kid in Yates before that game, he was extremely excited to be going to see us on a very cold december night. Delighted he would be getting a chance to buy one of our 'Jerseys' and see this team tearing up the championship in person. Hope he wasn't too dissapointed.

Whilst looking for a push chair for my youngest my mind went back to the brand Joie being a sponsor of Liverpool. Happily spent a bit more to not have one.

Great squad player who came up with some important moments during our most successful times. Helps that he seems to be a very decent bloke. Was a shame he just seemed to slip away on the quiet. Wonderful to see him back, he clearly feels some decent affection for the club.
