Correct, this dismissal of national identity as something worth protecting just fuels the BNP's fire. It obviously is important to large elements of the population, therefore they are getting support!

It's more worrying to me that the only political party that wish to promote, encourage and protect British identity and culture is one that is fundamentally racist. Until another party looks to take the mantle for this then the BNP will get support, even from individuals who are not racist per sé but do feel increasingly marginalised.
