  1. I dearly hope so, it would be fascinating to get a true snapshot of his delusion.
  2. The Miracle of Castel di Sangro has always been a favourite of mine. The author is a self righteous tw*tbag, but the story it documents is fascinating.
  3. He never wanted to sell the club, it was his asset to cultivate as he saw fit.
  4. Well, that would seem to be typical of Rupert, even his final big idea gets blown out of the water!
  5. Indeed, it seems they havn't quite grasped the symbolic nature of a virtual ticket. Gladly, the donation lines are there though....
  6. Good, hopefully we can have West Brom style plain shirts next year.
  7. Should be amusing. Wonder if they will subject him to any direct questions from us lot.
  8. Martin Ling or Aidy Bothroyd.
  9. Worst: The fiver I put on Crouchy scoring the winner at Fratton Park in April 2005. Best: Doesn't apply, i've not bothered betting again....
  10. The games themself no longer matter, the matters off field are the most important thing. It's all about preparing for the future.
  11. And to you too mate, give my regards to my Mum, who lives in Qawra. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
  12. What a game. Remember it like it was yesterday. Can't believe I was only 17 back then. Got tickets for the Northam but dad got ****ed of because he ended up standing (he's the kind of guy who expects all seater if we pay for all seater....) Got shifted to the lower part of the Kingsland/Northam corner after he prtested to the steward and we saw the goal basically square on from the view point. Brilliant, utterly brilliant, but oh the parrallels since.
  13. It's still worrying that so many people try to simplify our current situation and try to blame one person. We are in administration due to a combination of factors.... not due to a dictator. I do feel though that Leon was at worst the best of a bad bunch. He always seemed to be trying to do his best for the club as a whole, not just himself, even if he wasn't totally infallable in his decisions... A total cleanse is required, and administration gives us the potential for that. Whatever happens Saints will survive, we are too many in number for the club to simply vanish, there will always be a Southampton fc.
  14. How would we know if a 'company' set up for this purpose is legitimate?
  15. And they are still getting just as big, if not more of a kick out of watching them then they where a decade ago. Despite the highly precarious position we are now in I feel certain (purely instinct mind... no hard logic involved) that Saints will emerge stronger out of this then before.
  16. Regardless of that figure's accuracy, that it could it even be speculated that a club's fans could raise that amount at a time like this is remarkable! I sadly am running very tight at the moment and cannot spare much (certainly not 3 figures) I applaud everyone who has said they would contribute, you are the reason why, whatever happens there will be a Southampton Football Club to support.
  17. Any individual who diverts their anger against bank clerks deserves all they get as far as I'm concerned. I pray no-one is that stupid.
  18. Rupert: The Bear Faced Truth Would I buy and read it? Of course!
  19. He may be able to buy the club, but now he has been removed from the decision making process someone better positioned can take over!
  20. The administrators via the holding company I would guess.
  21. So, Rupert now thinks he is smarter then the stock exchange...... ...it will all backfire on him soon enough I fear.
  22. God, it's the not knowing at this point that makes it unbearable.
  23. It could make logical sense for hoddle to align his academy directly with an existing club, assuming the players it produces are of a high enough standard to sustain it.
  24. Correct. The past is not important now, the future we will live through is.
  25. I'm sure he would love to, sadly he is also a realist and knows he is a) too nice to be an effective manager and b) isn't rich or ruthless enough to save us at board level.
