  1. I'm sure he would love to, sadly he is also a realist and knows he is a) too nice to be an effective manager and b) isn't rich or ruthless enough to save us at board level.
  2. Well, it's happening, the club is beggining to implode and the follies of all previous chairmen come back to haunt the people it matters to most, the fans. If it is a new owner, administration or even god forbid liquidation that follows there is going to be one constant in it all. Us. While the fans stay strong, stay behind the idea and entity that is Southampton Football Club then there will always be a club to support, long after the Wildes, Crouchs, Askhams and Lowes of the world are gone. Many clubs have fallen into similar states before and risen back, Middlesborough, Charlton, Wimbledon, Fiorentina, hell even the Skates! They have survived! Grown! And so can we! The constant there wasn't the chairmen, it was their fans, the backing they gave allowed the clubs to continue even if it was in a radically different form, it was still their club. Clubs of lower stature have made it back, and so will we! A year is a long time in football, and even though the league we will be in now seems certain, the circumstance behind the scenes by then may be entirely different. We will survive, our club will survive because of us! COYR!!!
  3. Retro is one thing, crap is another. The 01-03 shirt is still the best recent England shirt by miles.
  4. Never in a million years should you get back with an ex.
  5. The engineers are free to redesign as budgets and regulations allow. The diffuser however is a fundamental part of the car's aerodynamic 'package.' A full redesign may be the only solution for some teams to take advantage of this, but that may be unrealistic. Some teams therefore may have their performance ruined by this, more then likely the teams that are protesting most loudly.
  6. There was a thread about Thatcher a few weeks ago, revive that if you want to discuss her, this is about Labour's remortgaging of the nation. Please stay on topic. Of course its all too easy for Lefties to cry 'Milk Snatcher' to get some perception of moral high ground. Get off your arse, get a paper round, earn some money and buy your own milk FFS!!
  7. Oh, they could have but didn't interperet the regulations as allowing this. The repurcussions of this are quite severe as of some cars are not suited to using similar diffusers. Red Bull/Toro Rosso I believe simply cannot adapt them due to the packaging of their gearbox. I think Renault (well, Flavio Briatore) are contesting this as it is not within the 'spirit' of the rules, which as an arguement goes is very weak. And as Ponty mentioned there are some rather serious political issues brewing in the background, this may be a symptom of these. Here is an excellent graphic that was posted on the planet f1 forum detailing the precise issue. I believe that the regulations state that no part of the car that is visable from underneath should be above 175mm from the chassis floor. Brawn, Williams and Toyota have dodged this by effectively having a double decker diffuser arrangement which is, frankly a fantastic display of latteral thinking! Bravo to them.
  8. The lack of clarity over the legality is worrying, but even more worrying is the automatic reaction to cry foul rather then congratulating/respecting the engineers of those respective teams for the inginuity they have shown. I'm delighted they have been cleared to race and hope any further appeals are also rejected.
  9. It is disgusting that Brown's reaction to that speach was to turn his face and laugh it off. A worthy man would be able to address and correct criticism, not laugh it off, he is pathetic. Labour are heading for dissaster, it is about bloody time too, just hope they havn't/will not destroy the country by too harsh a degree before they are removed from power. My gut instinct though is that the damage has already been done.
  10. I have some free weights and they are excellent, just be sure to start slow and work your way up, I have a weak back and as a result have used weights which my arms have been able to cope with but my spinal cord and back muscles couldn't!
  11. Oh the memories this brings. I have had: Game Boy Mega Drive (And later a 32x add on) Playstation PC (Purely for CM/FM) Xbox 360 Not many, but so many class games.
  12. He will appreciate it too.
  13. Everyone loves Magical Trevor.....
  14. Just taken a look at my house in Coventry, this is almost ****e scary!
  15. The way she shamelessly publicised and made almost a martyr out of her cause to give her kids a future was utterly vulgar and very hard to stomach, but I can understand why she did it, it's how she lived her life and how she made her fortune. As previously mentioned she has increased awareness of an awful disease that can ruin many lives, young and old alike, and if that can save more lives she has my thanks. The saga is over now though, my thoughts go to her family and friends, who will be grieving just as hard and painfully as any of us would be for someone we hold dear under the circumstances. RIP.
  16. Very much in the Lily Allen bracket of boarderline not fit but utterly filthy, therefore worth it!
  17. The points scoring change has been overturned as the teams didn't agree it. BRILLIANT!!!
  18. Isn't this just a rehash of what they where planning to do about 7 years ago?

  25. James Allen (despite being a poor commentator the guy knows his stuff) is detailed in this article: James Allen has urged F1 fans to 'put your money on Brawn for Melbourne win' and declared that 'it's official' that Brawn GP boast 'the fastest car in the F1 field' ahead of the new season. According to Allen, the former ITV commentator, 'The Barcelona test, which finished on Thursday, could well go down as one of the most remarkable events in recent F1 history' as the back-from-the-dead rebranded Honda outfit 'showed that it is faster over the race distance than the Ferrari!' Writing for his official website, JamesAllenonF1, he continued in an apparent tone of giddiness: 'It looks very much as though the battle for victory in Melbourne will be between Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, as long as the car lasts the distance. 'If you make a direct comparison between the race distance runs of Massa and Button on Wednesday and Barrichello on Thursday you see that Jenson does 19 laps below 1m 21, Barrichello does 14, while Massa manages just 2! 'What is even more impressive is that on the 19th lap of his 20 lap first stint Rubens does a 1m 19.971 - startling proof that the Brawn looks after its tyres very well over a long run. The team really are in amazing shape! In contrast the Ferrari's lap times tail off into the 1m 22s at the end of the 20 lap stints.' Massa has subsequently admitted that, regardless of the teams' respective fuel levels, Ferrari simply could not match the pace displayed by Brawn GP to top the timesheets in Melbourne.
