No, Hungary 1998, Schumacher's shining glory. Had to draw a 25 second or so lead out over 19 laps after adjusting his strategy to a 3 stopper over Hakkinen's 2. He did it. Utterly utterly brilliant. I remember 1997 and 2006 being rather exciting too, but on the whole year, Hungary is a bit crap.

Wow, a tale of two halves. First half wasn't bad, played well. Second half not so much, taking off McGoldrick was a mistake, he was putting himself about alright, something Patterson failed to do. We where terrible in the second half, all our attacks where from the wings, yet every single cross was high, moderately paced and dead easy for Maik Taylor or Jaidi to deal with. Wotte's tactics today where questionable, particularly sending Saiejs up front for the last ten minutes. Dissapointing, on the basis of the first half we could have got a point there.

Just to clarify the point I made. The e-mail system my firm uses is a wierd and wonderful combination of Outlook and Lotus. Synchronisation with the iPhone causes Outlook to crash, so the point you made regarding e-mails is spot on. Also, the sleek and shiny exterior is very sweet, but all too easily smudged in the dirty greasy factories/industrial units I venture too. Out of 10 staff three have already been broken, mainly due to them simply slipping out of peoples hands after the users failed to totally cleanse their hands of grease/various other lubricant and the call quality has been fair to middling. All the toys are fantastic, but as for working on spreadsheets etc, we have portable laptops for it. For our purposes a more durable unit would have been a far greater idea.

The disasterous Dodd/Gorman reign was the problem. Under Burley it was mid table, then an almighty slump followed, fitness suffered and Pearson came in and did his bloody best to save a sinking ship. Thank heavens he achieved it.

It is such a relief to see the team finally start to get things right, and with only one main addition to the squad in Saeijs. The horrifically poor appointment of Poortvliet by Lowe coupled with the youth policy could easily have had us in Charlton's position already. There is no way he will ever admit his error but the mixture of youth and experience now in the team is probably the closest we'll get to a recognition of error. It is now evident that this squad always had the ability to be safe in this league yet one of Rupert Lowe's moments of inspiration could have seen us plummet... Again. Until he has gone, or at the very least removed from decision making responsibility we will never be secure or run totally effectively. What is to stop him having another Wigley/Gray/Poortvliet gamble? All campaigns for his removal and searches for a replacement must continue, but crucially all support for the first team must also remain positive and focus to ensure we are in a strong position for when the day he departs for good comes. Mixed Emotions So, so, SO delighted we have won three in a row, it'll feel so good to be able to talk about Saints with optimism and pride again for a change. So, SO angry that on this basis the season has been wasted on this evidence, the squad has always been good enough, but management decisions have YET A-F*CKING GAIN caused us fans, the ones who essentially keep the club going, another season of worry, poor league positions and heartbreak. We could have been up there this year, we are capable of beating very good championship sides and always had the right amount of talent in the team. I don't care how well we do, a viable alternative to Rupert Lowe and the existing board must be found as soon as possible, he must not be allowed another moment of 'inspiration.' But hey, time to enjoy the win and feeling that we may just about be able to look ahead with optimism.

Jan was always out of his depth, seriously, what was his appointment all about!? I'm sure 'The Snake' will have known about Saeijs anyway, I suspect it was Wotte who wanted him.

Make me even more angry about the first 28 games of the season if i'm honest.
