  1. I think you have a valid point Alpine, at least in terms of stability on the playing side. We will bring through players, see them develop, and then lose them to those who are willing to pay a good amount for another product of the high reputation Southampton academy. The only real hope is that we can get a team developed and held together long enough for a promotion push, something Forest tried to do in the early part of this decade. While the banks are effectively in charge though that won't be possible.
  2. Outstanding! Losing 1 million pounds per month. You would have to be clinically insane to buy that club! Who was the last club to have debt and loses of this sort? Oh yes. Leeds United. Even taking assetts into account, it's only worth 50 million! Portsmouth Football Club is worth a grand total of -45 million pounds. What a wonderful, wonderful weekend.
  3. The 4 wheel drive williams set a new lap record around Silverstone if I remember correctly. Then the FIA banned it....

  9. Jackie Stewart's tartan trousers anyone?
  10. No, it is only practical when in the same city. 17 miles apart with significant other places in between doesn't equal same city. The Skates would reject it outright anyway. They have something we don't seem to right now. Pride.
  11. Svensson as a sub for the weekend. But he needs more time, he rushed back for the Rotherham game and paid severely for it.
  12. If those quotes atributed to her at all are true, then thats what shocks me most. The injuries they subjected the poor lad too are horrifying, but the lack of remorse is even more so!!!
  13. I wish the law was that tough over here. Might sort out a few things.
  14. Oh noes! I didn't see that one coming, not for a second....

  17. Rather then drive 2 hours 15 minutes to the ground, spending quite a bit on diesel, spend 20 odd quid on a ticket, more money on food, observe a glorified reserve team lose to a team from a club that is run properly, then drive 2 hours 15 minutes back and feel sodding miserable for the next few days, I did something different. I went with a friend who doesn't really like football to see Birmingham v Charlton. The drive was only 30 minutes, could park RIGHT by the ground and the ticket cost only a tenner! I was a neutral observer but had a good time just watching some football without risk of feeling depressed afterwards. It was great!! And when the result from this game became clear. I didn't batter an eyelid, just sighed in acceptance, not wanting the slow death of my club to ruin an otherwise enjoyable afternoon out.
