I’d quite like a manager that is being interviewed to say what SR need to do to be successful. Whether that be having a reformed transfer committee aligned to the manager and not the SR group, tactics or formation etc, more authority of things around the club. Imagine a prospective manager going “I’m not the desperate one, you are, but this is what you need to do if you want to be successful, because clearly your last four candidates you went with have been dogshit”. 😂

He plays attacking football. SR despise that.

Manage Southampton on Football Manager 2026
Willo of Whiteley replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I’ve not said that. I used EA as an example. I’ve stopped buying a lot of the games until a month or two after release, that way a lot of bugs are generally ironed out by then. I must admit from the early reviews I’ve read of FM26, they’re very mixed -

I always laugh when they release beta codes for fans a month or so before game release, yet only three people get them. Take EA for example, you get absolute mugs that pay for early access a week before and the game is littered with bugs. You basically pay an extra £30 to be a glorified beta tester a week before mass release. -
Probably because someone who knows a bookie was reading SaintsWeb last night and saw his name had been mentioned. I’m expecting Gio van Brockhorst odds to drop tomorrow 😂

Ryan Fraser was the other got a whiff of. Basically got told that someone who was highly thought of would be coming but it was the club waiting for the right moment. That one I put two and two together and assumed it was Ryan Fraser. Newcastle were 100% going to cancel his contract on deadline day when no one came in, which is exactly what happened, and we were ready and waiting. I shared that but got a few comments on the back of it. I don’t really care though, I won’t lose sleep over it 😂

I’d have taken Daniel Farke in the summer. Good manager, 4-3-3, pressing teams and good record in the EFL.
-
Best Charlton and I think Tonda Exkhart will be confirmed, but if he then loses the next four games Sport Republic look more idiotic than they currently do.

This forum is full of bellends, but if you have those that give you some stick then give some back. You don’t have to engage with those that get arsy. I knew a month or so early last summer that Aaron Ramsdale was signing but you just take it in your stride. Some will believe you and some won’t. I just chose not to entertain those that didn’t respond to me. Having a tantrum won’t build any bridges with fans on here though. I used to know a couple of people around the club, now I only know one. I don’t get the same info but do get the odd snippet.

Well he’s already got a collection of idiots that follow him 🤷🏻♂️

Having sat in the Northam on Saturday there were a few fuckwits around chanting Tommy Robinson’s name. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything about stupid people. The fist pumping doesn’t bother me, but doing it as an interim manager or the players celebrating like they’ve won the World Cup is a little cringy given where they should be and their performance this season.
-
That rules him out then. Our squad can’t follow anymore than simple instructions, and even that is a push

He was quoted once as saying “Southampton are a selling club, I thought they were ambitious, perhaps their priorities have changed”.
-
To summarise then: Russell Martin - It won’t be happening, lazy link in the first place. Ralph Hassenhutl - It won’t be happening, another lazy link for the bookies. Tonda Ekhart - played two poor teams, two wins yes but not particularly good football, just more of the same rubbish. But I think he’ll be most likely to get it at the moment, sadly. Michael Carrick - RM MKII from what I’ve read. Brendan Rodgers - would be great, but would be ambitious, I thought his ambitions were higher than us but maybe his priorities have changed (if you know you know). Gary O’Neill - taking the Pompey element out of it, he has still done nothing at any club he has been at. Carlos Corberan - never really understood the hype around him, didn’t think he was particularly good at West Brom. Liam Rosenior (for DT) - CL manager, doing very well in Ligue 1, why the f*** would he leave to come to us?! 🤣
-
I doubt Brendan Rodgers is a realistic target for us. I’m sure he’s aiming higher than us.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst. You heard it here first. £500 on it. Now watch the odds for him plummet. 😂

ThE bOoKiEs KnOw SoMeThInG wE dOn’t!!!! 😂 Odds will fluctuate daily.

FootyInsider on Twitter just said Southampton are advancing in talks for GON. Take it with a pinch of salt as that account regularly spouts utter bollocks. 😂
-
Brendan Rodgers seems the most desirable out of those supposed final four
-
We’re seven points off the play-offs and eleven off the autos, with ninety-three points still to play for. A good manager will kick us on.
-
Gary O’Neill has done nothing notable at any club he’s managed. He sparked a brief upturn in form and that quickly went to shit. May as well being in Steve Claridge as his assistant. He is NOT what we’re looking for. There aren’t that many great and available options out there.
-
I think in the worst signings that must cover the bracket of poor ability, or simply didn’t play so weren’t good value for money? Chuck Kamaldeen Sulemana on there too.
-
Ironically I think everyone could/can see this coming…
