1-0, scrappy home win, but three points nonetheless
-
The silver lining is that Man Coty made up eight points in the final four games on United over team years ago 😉 We have to just concentrate on our games, forget the rest of the league. But at this time of the season this is where everyone is scrapping, look at Oxford’s recent form, Blackburn, West Brom. Teams scrapping for points at the bottom and then those at the top will come unstuck too. Hull’s form has plummeted, Ipswich will pip Middlesbrough to the auto spot. Teams will be taking points off each other.

Having gone tonight, my thoughts: Finn Azaz was excellent, every touch, flick and pass seemed to work for him this evening, he was also excellent at mopping up loose passes from Norwich. We lack so much in the centre when Flynn Downes doesn’t play, he goes to attack the opposing player with the ball, Shea Charles came on and immediately retreated about twenty yards. Daniel Peretz made some good saves through the game, I left when Stephens flicked onto the crossbar so I’ve actually only just seen his last minute save after that time. Bazunu or McCarthy in goal and that goes in. There’s nothing flash about him, he encourages others to concentrate and pay attention, no showboating or anything rash with him. I think tonight highlighted how weak we look attacking wise at times, we have a huge lack of pace in the side, but our one touch passing was excellent and fast-moving. Two excellent results in a row. No excuses for not beating Oxford on Saturday. The ref absolutely bottled sending off their number 20 a minute into the second half. He was inconsistent. The crowd was very flat tonight, the only noise was from the Norwich fans and the Saints fans next to them. Assuming the Northam was having a night off.

This felt appropriate six weeks ago, now I have the utmost confidence we will finish in the play offs. Hull will drop out, Middlesbrough will be displaced in 2nd by Ipswich. Where the teams in the play offs finish is a complete lottery.

DT smashes another window in anger

They look like a team, even the likes of Flynn Downes and Taylor Harwood-Bellis look buzzing and are becoming leaders

I hate the term “brave” because it’s been coined by our former manager, but starting with little pace and no wide players was a very bold call, and on the face of it a now excellent one

If Coventry could now finish third can we then knock them out the play offs, please?
-
Coventry goal incoming then
-
Says it all But I remember going to that Middlesbrough home game and I thought they were pretty ineffective. They got a very fortunate goal through the ghost of Alex McCarthy.

We look very light in the centre of midfield…

No width and no pace. This could be interesting.

Coventry 2-0 Saints
-
West Brom - must win Blackburn - must win Portsmouth - must win Norwich - must win Oxford - must win Many points dropped from these lower league teams this season, based on the above fifteen points. It doesn’t inspire me with confidence going up against Coventry, Ipswich and (I can’t believe I’m saying this) bloody Wrexham, or Derby.

Fifteen minutes left, but honestly the ref may as well call the game now. -

He’s just not a good player. This shouldn’t be a shock. -

They’ve all been shit. This is why we won’t make the play offs.
