  1. Whilst not risking anybody who is not 100% fit we should defo be putting out the strongest team available and going flat out to win convincingly, no matter what the competition is. As AP has said from day 1 here, we lacked the winning mentality due to the set backs over the recent years. Now that we have rediscovered what it feels like surely we should keep it going. What is likely to build up team morale and confidence ... 2 more wins on the bounce or 2 lack lustre performances by make shift teams? I've banged on about it before but look at what Redkrap did for morale and confidence of the team when he sent out a bunch of kids at Mansfield and then slagged them off (despite it being the team he picked, playing the tactics he choose and his supposedly great motivation skills ... he used it as an excuse to show them and us fans that our kids weren't as good as we thought ) Also the FA Cup against Moan U in our relegation season (from Prem that ) he sent out a weakened team that got duly humiliated at home but an under strength Moan U ... a fighting defeat would have been acceptable, but to raise the white flag even before the game kicked of was an insult to the fans that paid up for the tickets. Which of course is another way of looking at it ... people pay good hard earned money to watch their team win, not some fringe players get rolled over. Look at last season with both Redkrap and Aston Villa putting out understrength teams in European matches (which is what they worked so hard to qualify for in the previous season ) and lost. Villa in particular never recovered and their season floundered as they dropped out of the top 4 race. Any player / manager worth their salt will tell you that after a win, you can't wait to get out on the pitch and play again. Having top players doing **** all for 2 weeks would be plain daft.
  2. Not really ... as Bill Shankly once said ... something along the lines of ''you can change your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend, you can your political beliefs, you can change your religion, but you can never ever change the team you support" Therefore getting the name of some soppy tart who is likely to dump you tattooed on you is far more taboo I haven't got a tat but have occassionally thought about getting a subtle halo stickman, but where to put it? Very top of the arm or shoulder blade? Not on the lower arm where it would be on permanent display (I always wear short sleeved shirts), as I do think the whole concept of tats a bit tacky and chavvyish
  3. Where are Lady Saint's photos, an away day isn't an away day without her photos on here the next day
  4. Flying from Dubai A few days earlier admittedly, final part of the journey by train from Leigh Lancashire.
  5. And you just know what that means don't cha  (in the past anyway!!) I think we have got past the point where we were cannon fodder to any team on a bad streak and are more than capable of beating them. FAO of Yorkie, whilst agreeing with the promotion is our No 1 goal, I also agree whole heartedly (and hope that he sticks to his guns) that winning breeds a winning mentality. So I'd like to see a strong team for this match. One of my many gripes with Redkrap was his team selection for cup matches ... virtually said "okay we can't be arsed with this, roll on next week" And then blame the kids (for playing his tactics etc) and losing at Mansfield etc or to roll over so tamely V Man U in the relegation season against an under strength Man Yoo when we should have been tearing into em instead of waving a white flag at KO  Ooops gone off on a tangent .... play to win every game.
  6. Although disappointed at only drawing 2-2, to come back from 2 down makes it feel like a win. Can't be too down beat as it sounded like a cracking game rather than a lucky comeback. Agree about the 4-4-2 but to be fair we had plenty of chances to get a head with the 4-5-1 Having the players to be able to change formations seamlessly AND a manager who will happily make that decision is a major major step forward for us. Pressure off now the winning streak is off, now we can get back to another 4 wins before another draw
  7. lol Merrington going for a 2-4 -4 formation not sure if he is dyslexsic or wants to go for bust DC nearly scored again .. come on you beauts. 4 mins et come on.

  24. Like many on here, who have grown up in a lifetime of total Saints domination bar the last 5 years, I hardly used to give Skatemuff a 2nd thought except for the odd sing song of Notarf Krap is falling Down or If I had the wings of a sparrow on match days. After all our paths never crossed until we got relegated and had to play them in Div 2 (old money). The atmosphere was quite tense throughout the game and Ossie (RIP) scored 2 goals to send us home happy but the sheer bitter and twisted hate on the fishy fiddlers faces was quite unlike anything I'd ever seen before, and it made the win even more satisfying knowing now just how much they hated us . The following year at The Dell was even better a 4-0 win and the skates kicking **** out of each other in The Archers lolage. Then the 1-0 at my only visit to their shytehole of a ground just after the FA Cup semi final, not a night for the faint hearted. We went on to win the cup and they got relegated ... this was probably when I first got to the gloating stage rather than ignoring stage With each year my hatred has increased and silly little things such as not buying a blue toothbrush (or blue and white striped toothepaste) or blue and white clothes became the normal thing to do  After our few years of hardship it is great to see them fall from one farce to another. I do not want them to go out of business, but a slow emabarressing demise with relegation (with some humiliating hammerings), points deductions and more relegations over the next few years would suit me just fine
