  1. RPB. The thing to do is sell your house now.Rent while the price drops a further 15%.Then buy again at rock bottom. Thereby making yourself a nice profit. I do that 50 times a day in a different field, and no tax to pay.
  2. It is not intelligent to come to a club and play fanatasy football with the existence of this great club.We are playing for REAL points not FANTASY ones, and there are no points for ARTISTIC IMPRESSION. This is REAL football in the 6th most important league in EUROPE.We already have one EGOTIST in Lowe,we do not need another. To be a successful football manager without squillions to spend you need to be a PRAGMATIST. There is an old saying "you have to EARN the right to play".We are not there yet,or any way near. The last thing you do when you have a defence that is plainly not good enough is play the offside trap.We got away with it against Doncaster,it slaughtered us yesterday. You cannot continually play in a way that gives your opponents so many chances and expect to get away with it in this league. There are a lot of players in this league who are good enough to take them.We must play wide players who CAN and WILL help out our full backs. This is a TEAM game. It is perfectly obvious already that our opponents take far more of their chances than we do.While our youngsters are skilfull, that is only part of being a pro.footballer.They are lacking in many other areas, along with experience. JPs job is to help these young players grow into the potential they have,it does them no good to be easy to beat. There was no TOTAL football yesterday.Far too many 40+ yard passes that gave possession back to Coventry. The players movement off the ball is still nowhere near good enough for total football. The one bright spot yesterday was the way the youngsters kept going until the final whistle despite being hammered. That shows the potential they have. It is not the players letting us down,it is the management who are letting them and us down. It is NOT good management to ignore the inexperience and weaknesses in your team and players, and to plough on dogmatically regardless. If Lowe things this is a sensible plan of action,he is as deluded as JP. We have the players to remain in this league. We need more INTELLIGENT management.
  3. Paul Miller was on Eamon Holmes radio show this morning, intelligent and articulate, and been on the inside track for some years. If he says serious buyers don't court publicity, you can take it as read. Fulthorpe has probably not courted publicity, but others involved have, which will put off any potential buyers.
  4. For those who like to dream that bigmouths are serious--dream on.
  5. People serious about taking over a football club do not talk publicly until the deal is done. From Paul Miller,ex-Spurs player, now working in the city, and friend of Keith Harris of Seymour Pierce.
  6. Well done for the win to all concerned. However, our defending was lamentable.Very little protection for the defence from midfield. Not great in final third. We beat a team even poorer than we have been playing latlely. Lets hope this will bring some confidence to get us playing better. Having said that, considering the clubs position,a lot of people would have been happy with 8 points from 8 games and out of the relegation places, before the season started.
  7. Because like last season .comsaint, the players are not fit enough.
  8. we have no defence
  9. Turm your watches back 5 minutes
  10. Can't agree that Saints can't manage on £14 million. If not we might as well liquidate now.
  11. Lets face it,we are not expecting to win anything other than survival this season, then take it from there. At the end of the day,no matter how athletic or skillful players are,its whats between the ears that really counts, and it is that that seperates the top players from the rest. These players lack knowhow, which results in them making wrong decisions.Better players make more correct decisions than lesser players.Unfortunately, the players are required to play at a tempo that they have not been used to,this will result in the short term in many incorrect decisions. It would be of significant help to these inexperienced players if they played at a slower tempo for the moment. They need to build their attacks more patiently and wait for the right movement and pass,as they do on the continent. This will have the added benefit of retaining possession longer in the game and at the same time our opponents will have the ball less. This slower tempo will have a psychological effect on our opponents, who will play slower themselves, which will considerably help in our defending. There will be those who will poo-poo this statement, but i guarantee that this will be the case for the most part. More possession will result in increased confidence, which will result in better, more effective play.It will also help if indeed there are stamina issues with the players. The priority at the moment must be to stabilise a dramatic deterioration in our standard of play.JP is trying to get the players to run before they can walk.A period of crawling would be highly benificial.
  12. You are right Nick, the failure was not to immediately cut our cloth to CCC level after the first season down.It would have been much easier to manage then than now. There is not logic to expect a better chance of going up the second season down,as Lowe is supposed to have suggested.
  13. Total football works in every league. Not neccessarily in every game, but over a season a truly footballing team will do well. I don't think our youngsters are up to playing like the dutch masters, but they are capable of doing much better than they are doing at the moment. The real question is : why has their perfromance levels dropped so dramatically?
  14. Saintswarwick likes to re-write history StubbSaints,he has taken every position possible on every sublect so that he can say that he was right and everyone else was wrong.
  15. Its a bit different when clubs deliberately play a weakened team and get beat, and when you put out your strongest team available and play abjectly AGAIN. If the team was not going BACKWARDS at a rate of knots people would not be so concerned.
  16. I've decided to make Scooby my fag.
  17. Think we have found the right response for Scooby. His posts are laughable,so suggest we treat him as the comedian he is. More entertaining than the football at the moment. Seems to have gone quiet though.
  18. A Scooby sandwich.
  19. Not even Gold Spot could mask the stench of Lowe.
  20. To be in our 4th CCC season, and even now still not running a financial regime appropriate to the division we are in is probably even worse mis-management than Leeds, on reflection.
  21. The sad thing is Lowe thinks his plants have an influence.
  22. Spot on Nick. Unbelievable but true.
  23. Won't need rope Snowballs, his tongue is so far up Lowes arse, only matter of time before he suffocates.
  24. If you stack anything without the correct foundation,it will fall down.
