Because we would be playing differently. Can you ever remember seeeing or hearing of John with a one-on-one for us? The chances we are creating prove that we are playing the right way, with more experience the boys will start to put these chances away. What decent striker are we going to get with no money?
-
With John playing we would probably not had as many as 4 chances. These boys will come good.

Coppell is no doubt willing to buy a player he thinks is willing to join his club, and while he would like to buy Ashley Cole, finance dictates that he lowers his sights. Coppell may well feel that he can improve Drew,or that the set-up of his team is such that his limitations will not be so badly exposed as they are in Saints team. Drew can be a good passer, but there were games last season when he did nothing but give the ball away. IMO,at the moment we need the money more than we need Surman.
-
When will people stop making players out to be something they are not. Surman is an average player with no pace, can't tackle, and nowhere near good enough for the premiership. If someone is prepared to give decent money for him, snap their hands off.

Talk of formations is pointless.Players are the important thing. Players end up all over the place in the course of the match,if they did not it would mean that they have stuck rigidly to a "formation",and would spend most of the match as spectators. Players move to where they think they should be or where they think they ought or need to be as play developes,in the process ALL formations are destroyed and become completely meaningless. A football match is an ever-changing dynamic, not a game of chess where players can only move within a narrow field of activity. Talk of formations is for people to try and sound like they know what they are talking about.
-
So Doctoroncall, you are saying that when we have a corner against us,we are still maintaining a 4-2-1-2-1 formation? and not a 9-1 formation in response to the current situation on the pitch.
-
Talk of playing formations is nonsense.A complete red herring. Do teams keep rigidly to these formations during the game without moving ? No. During the ebb and flow of a game a team will end up in all kinds of formations by accident and design,as players move around in response to what their players do and what the opposition players do.

10pts for top spot.

..............point scoring between the same old usual supsects on here.Much more important than the football. Think we should run a weekly poll for "point scorer of the week". We could run a league table, score it like formula one.
-
Think you will find insurance is a league requirement, covering all playing staff.
-
Hoddle is so good at CCC level.
-
Saints problems seem to be at fullback, which is not unexpected.
-
These boys are improving every game, and a lot quicker than anyone could hope for. This team is already better than last seasons team. Todays result will have no bearing on the season overall.

Good point Nickh,it is scandalous the way administrators operate. Can't understand the lack of supervision of administrators. The whole of company law needs a rethink.
-
I think young players are generally given a nominal value until such time as a realsitic value can be assessed. There are accepted conventions i believe for valuing younger players that Companies House will accept. A PLC does not have discretion over what it shows on its balance sheet, although valuations are somewhat subjective with footballers .
-
Players are assets, and as such their value HAS to be shown on balance sheet. As the length of their contracts reduce so does their value. This is called amortising.
-
I imagine getting all high earners off the books is a pre-requisite for continuing bank support.
-
Every report by fans at pre-season games pointed out that the older players were like fish out of water in the new system. The only way we can now use them is if we surround them with their own kind. Not an option any more.Plus,we would just have an inferior team to last season. Certain relegation.
-
We are on Plan B Alps. Plan A was last years sh*te,where we played the normal CCC way, with crap players. The players you want to keep didn't do it before, why do you think they are going to do it alongside even worse players. They can't play with the young players,so we would have to find a load of normal CCC players that we can't afford anyway. You are wishing for something that is now impossible.
-
We still have Burleys Plan Z. Spend money we don't have, and drink a bottle a day.
-
I think it will be very important when playing the better teams to slow down a bit,and deny them as much possession as possible..The boys are rushing things in the final third and giving the ball away too easily, which we will be punished for if we do that against Birmingham.

spiderman going to get himself sent off with all these fouls
