  1. I agree. Brilliant when he wants to play (played Pogba off the pitch) but might as well not be on the pitch when not bothered (which is most of the time).
  2. Bit old for social media anyway then ...
  3. I guess he's escaping attitudes like this; can't blame him. By the way, which part of you is actually a loyal Saint.
  4. Nathan Ake; he is good in both boxes and we should have gone for him before he went to Bournemouth but he is probably destined for a bigger club now. Josh King possibly to play alongside Ings, he averages one goal in 3 games for Bournemouth but is now 28 years old and is therefore probably outside the age range that we tend to go for. Brooks looks very good but will probably cost too much and would block some of our midfield youngsters emerging (Smallbone, Jankewitz and Reed). Nobody from Norwich or Aston Villa springs to mind, other than possibly Cantwell ..
  5. Good job Steve
  6. I agree with this, as long as we get someone decent - the money from a money only deal won't go very far.
  7. Consistent with the commercialism of football and the move to moneyball .. buy low, sell high ... great if it consistently works and relies upon a great scouting model, but huge downside if you get it wrong, as we did for a season or three ..

  9. And even in the modern era ... Bale, Mane, Van Dijk .. incredible really.
  10. I've voted for Le Tissier as number 1, what a legend he is. I originally became a Saints fan because they were my local team but also I think because we always had a knack of finding a special player that it was worth going to a match just to see what they might do ... it was Mick Channon when I started going to the Dell in the 70s as a nipper, Ivan Golac, Alan Ball, Frank Worthington, Kevin Keegan, the Wallaces, Steve Williams, Phil Boyer, Le Tissier, Lambert, Mane ...
  11. I'm with you on this Ringwood.
  12. A really frustrating player. There is no doubt in my mind that he has the quality in him to be one of the best midfielders in the league; I saw him absolutely play Pogba off the park at home to Manchester United. But his attitude will prevent him from reaching anywhere near his potential. We've seen a few of those over the years at SFC (Gaston, Osvaldo ..) I guess if they did have the right attitude they wouldn't have come to Saints
  13. Lemina, semi final against Chelsea. Even by his standards that was truly dire, especially in a match I thought he might actually turn up for (Wembley, semi-final, shop window etc). https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/04/22/southampton-fans-react-on-twitter-to-mario-leminas-semi-final-di/
  14. Andrei Kanchelskis

  16. Possibly, but not at £250 million - a ludicrous amount at the moment.
