  1. The family is so important to Cameron, so important that he plans to cut child tax credits. Oh dear.
  2. Link? Would genuinely be interested to see these stats.
  3. Do you sit the exams every year, then?
  4. It wouldn't have happened, were there not an exogenous shock, something he had no control over. The buffer which could've protected us (a manufacturing base), was previously removed by the Tories.
  5. Sorry, but do you know what an analogy is?
  6. Also part of what compounded a solid economy under Labour was the independence of the Bank of England: Gordon Brown's first major act as chancellor of the exchequer. He DID basically remove the boom/bust cycle, but neglected to 'save', which does go against him.
  7. An analogy: You have purchased a house, it is working well. It has damp, the previous owners didn't tell you. It smells a bit, but the house is fine. You neglect this and ultimately the damp severely affects the property. Who is to blame? Yourself partially, but the previous owners should take at least as much blame also. The removal of the manufacturing base under the Tories removed the strong foundations which we could have fallen back upon with the housing market crash, as other countries less affected (such as Germany) did. I'm not saying Brown is faultless, but the Tories ought not be able to point and laugh at Brown and claim it is all his fault, because clearly, it's not.
  8. Him and Brown have done well, I feel. I know most of you fascists won't like his policies on immigration, but it's the only implementable policy of the three and they're the only party (of the main three) whose immigration policy isn't an empty promise.
  9. How can you deport them when you can't find them?
  10. Whilst Clegg exposing the fact that immigration can't be capped will certainly be ignored on here.
  11. The last 13 years have clearly contributed, but the housing market crash which led to the recession was an exogenous factor which the government had no control over. The government ought to have implemented greater regulation for the banks and should have done so. But, let's get real, in such 'good times' what political party would impose greater regulation and **** off those who feed it most? None of the parties would have, whoever would've been in power over the last few years would have presided over a terrible recession, but before that, Brown did as reasonable a job as can be asked and his economic policies for the future are far more prudent, clear and logical than the Tories. Do you really want George Osborne looking after the economy? Pfft.
  12. Sorry, how can someone propose immediate cuts, threatening the stability of the economy in the short-run? How can this same person look to aid the 'super-rich' with inheritance tax cuts for them, whilst simultaneously cutting child benefit allowances? That one policy outlines everything that's wrong with the Conservatives, they're helping the rich and disadvantaging the poor. Not only this, but the marginal propensity to consume and to spend the disposable income 'windfalls' they'd receive means these 'cuts' for the rich means money sitting in a bank account, whereas money that would be readily spent via child benefits is cut. How can a man proposing this be 'clearly winning'? Where is he going to find the cuts he proposes? When will he directly answer a question tonight? He's been awful.
  13. The failure to cope with the housing market crash was a result of our economy's dependence upon the 'square mile'. What caused this? The removal of the UK's manufacturing base. What caused this? Privatisation. Who caused this? The Conservatives under Thatcher and Major.
  14. What the hell? Cameron is being completely destroyed by Gordon Brown. Clegg seems somewhat irrelevant today however.
  15. Billy Sharp, Brian Stock. Steal Doncaster's thunder.
  16. LOL of the day.
  17. Clegg was on last week and came out of it better than Cameron has done, the only tangible change he was shown to be promising is if he wins the election, there'll be a change of government.
  18. I seem to remember them only putting two past us the last time we played.
  19. I agree, but don't think it's realistic to expect the necessary levels of motivation and efficiency from the 'idle British', that skilled immigrants ought to supplement the workforce where it is needed. Controlling this would be difficult, but it is far more economically viable than attempting to reduce immigration massively immediately.
  20. This is a ridiculous argument, there is work out there, how else do the immigrants manage to find it? The Lib Dems also propose free training schemes for anyone aged 16-24 out of work/full-time education for 6+ months, supplementing this with skilled immigrant workers coming to the most-needed areas.
  21. Oh yes it is.
  22. How is attempting to get skilled immigrant workers to the areas that need it 'leaving the gates open'? The amnesty is at least admitting there has been some problem with immigration in recent years; the fault of Labour. The Tories general isolated stance towards immigration and Europe is both laughable and ridiculous.
  23. Cameron in a distant third, with Brown just edging past Clegg tonight. I can't see how it can be seen otherwise (though that's rather obvious, isn't it?).
  24. Cameron will get raped by Paxman tomorrow evening.
  25. Nothing he's said has had any impact at all. He's been very unimpressive for me, assertive, but empty.
