I think we need to prepare ourselves for a drab couple of months folks. Seen it all before. Safety in sight and then bottle it.

Saints currently playing with all the finesse of a park team. We never put opponents under any sort of sustained pressure. Tidy enough in build up but always susceptible to a real pro team.

The one thing you don't do is to give away cheap free kicks that let them pump balls into our defence.

So far looking like a typical Saints game of old. Loads of pretty possession. Some good chances gone begging. Then let a lanky ageing No9 score. I'm predicting 1-3.

Saints never seem to look alive to opportunitied in the opponents penalty area. If that improves then Saints would be top half with no problem.

Villa didn't have to break into a sweat.

Villa have pretty much had a stroll today. Their better players stuck their chances away. Saints have hardly created anything of note. Just have to hope this season doesn't drift to an end.

I want to see Saints get the ball forward more quickly and test Villa's ageing defence.

Villa could have easily had 4 in that half. Saints with plenty of possession but lacking in ideas. Villa have the freedom of the park whenever they bother to attack.

Villa holding Saints knowing that they'll get plenty of room when breaking forward. Too easy for them.
