This is like so many Saints second halves this season. We're never going to score. It's the hope that gets you.

Commentators don't seem to understand why Welbeck was penalised. It's because Welbeck isn't allowed to play the ball twice without another player touching it after the penalty.

I suspect Saints will manage to grab enough points to avoid sliding into the bottom 3 this season but it's next season that I'm worrying about. Any decent Saints players are not going to enjoy losing every week so will likely be off. Likewise the prospect of another struggle next season won't attract talent either.

Bamford telling Sky that they took the dreadful pitch out of the equation in the 2nd half. It worked. Saints continued to fanny around and struggle with the slippy surface. It didn't work.

I've seen worse pitches at Elland Road but not many. As for Saints, well, something needs to change. Heads drop as soon as we concede because they all know we're clueless in the final third.

Something awfully wrong with Saints. These second half performances are becoming all too predictable.
