Come on chaps. Let's face it. This season is going to be a struggle on the evidence so far.

A defensive shambles.

Any team with pace is going to look at Saints defence and midfield with quite a bit of anticipation.

Gifted the ball to them. Awful stuff.

Our defence is slow & lightweight.

Happy enough going forward but still too many chances missed. Defensively we need some work.

It might help if we stop just giving the ball away.

Colback should've had 3 yellows for that.

Defending doesn't exactly fill me with confidence at the moment.

We'll be playing with 10 men soon at this rate.

Oh well. Back to the cricket. Might be an idea to try shooting with some belief rather more. A nice easy win for the Gunners next Saturday now please.

Maybe it might be better if we didn't go with the idea of scoring all our goals in one game. Blunt attack yet again.

Having been a Saints fan for many decades it's not weird at all.

Shocking defending. Not all over yet.

The final ball is always just a hopeful punt. No ideas in attack at all.

How many times has Wanyama lost the ball in midfield? Another awful performance.

Only starting? Saints have been poor for weeks now. Attack is ponderous and predictable. Hardly any penetration at all and now the defence is creaking.

Saints doing their best to keep the relegation contest interesting.

Already Saints don't look up for this game either.

Good Villa performance. Liverpool were woeful. Rather than hope Arsenal win the final I suppose Saints could actually try scoring some goals and try winning a few games.

As an attacking force Saints are pretty blunt. Hardly peppering the goal are we?

Saints crosses into the box invariably find a defender.

The problems in attack have been building for months without being addressed. There's still time to stop the season turning into a damp squib but things don't look good at the moment.
