It's more likely that Saints will concede from one of their own corners.

The signs were there in the first half. Started well and actually managed to score. After that I can't remember a decent chance. Palace played the conditions well, threw some strong men at it and won easily in the end. I'm preparing for Championship games next season.

Saints doing ok but pretty aimless in the attacking third as usual. Man U are bound to take one of their chances while Saints probably won't. Pumping long free kicks up to, well, Long doesn't seem like a good plan to me.

Just for a bit the players seemed to give up with all that negative defensive pass it back rubbish that made them frightened to play. Rather bizarrely Saints could have had more than 2. But then again Spurs could have had more than 5. If that Lemina shot had sneaked in under the bar then who knows?

Redmond on the edge of their box gives the ball away badly and in a matter of seconds it's 4-0.

Saints just like a bunch of strangers. There's no sense of a team working together at all. Another grim 45 minutes beckons I suspect.

Thought I was watching the match highlights but it turns out to be Carry On Up The Khyber.

At the start of 2017 a trip to Wembley was on the cards. At the end of the year it's going to be a long hard struggle against relegation.

Redmond's decision making is really, really poor. Some good chances to make it two have gone the way that they usually do with Saints. Still, I'd have taken 1-0 at half time after that shambolic start.

There's no evidence that Black was a part of the problem with Saints form but he's one major common factor from last season to this. That and his awful reputation at Villa are simply circumstantial, if not damning, evidence for the prosecution. I guess the coming months might offer another clue.

That's another thing I dislike about being in a relegation scrap - having to hope that the likes of Man Utd & Liverpool win.

Can't really understand why Redmond was still on the pitch at the end. Late on he was fed a great ball with a chance to show his pace but he lost it and then fouled the Chelsea defender. He must be blinding hot on the training pitch.

Don't we have to question the wall there? Incorrectly positioned or man at the end not doing his job perhaps. Once again conceding on or around 45 minutes of a half is also something to be addressed.
